I think Camel cigarettes is watching me!

Thanks again for all the tips, I'm going cold turkey today..will be updating at one week.

Oh the creep factor side---About one year ago my friends and myself signed up for "camel" promotional free packs where you take a survey and give your address for mailings.

I didn't really think I'd get more than like a flyer here and there...then the gifts started coming... Not to my friends, but me. I guess I was a target market, 21 y/o girl.

First they just sent

coupons
then a fancy lighter
then a cigarette case

I thought, cool...I guess this is convenientish...I had none of these things...

Then...

a wallet
a money clip
then pin up girls on match boxes....
then several samples

Then...somehow they knew that my room was so bright at dawn---they sent me

A SLEEPING MASK!

Now they just sent me a 'mixed cd' the other day after I complained I needed new cd's.

It's just getting weird, I think'll be receiving a camel thong next or something.

And I find it creepy to get coupons with my name on it, I need to quit!!

Having the coupons doesn't mean you have to use them, but of course you knew that. They make great fire-lighters, and are made of recyclable paper!  ;D ;D
You could always return the next whatever-it-is marked "Moved No Forwarding Adress".

GO BEANTHAI GO!    YOU CAN DO IT, JUST SAY NO

I know, really dorky, but I couldn't resist a nerdy little cheer for you.  ;D

Thank heaven, I have given up smoking again!... God! I feel fit.  Homicidal, but fit.  A different man.  Irritable, moody, depressed, rude, nervy, perhaps; but the lungs are fine.

The same thing happened to me!  I signed up for the promotional stuff in a bar when I was pretty drunk and would not have done so otherwise.  Anyways about two weeks after I quit they sent me hella coupons.  It pissed me off. I think I ended up smoking for a while again after that, but now I have been smoke free for about four months.

OMG! I get all that stuff too! I was going to jsut get myself off teh mailing list but then I figured I'd take advantage of of big tabacco by taking all their free gifts but never buying thier product--recently they must have fond out I was weaking and I was sent $5 off a pack coupons! It took a lot to throw them out!

Keep the faith Beanthia--big tobacco will follow you  but that old camel will probably die soon--I'm sue you will be able to outrun him!!!

This happened to me to, the first time I quit.  I signed up for the promotional free cigarettes in a bar, but never received any coupons or anything. THEN...the day after I put on my first nicotine patch, I got a whole package of stuff in the mail, complete with buy one/get one coupons.  It really was the devil.

It's like they know when you are quitting--makes me wonder if they have some kind of high tech survellience system on their targets...

Maybe the cigarette packs have hidden cameras.

Maybe the cigarette packs have hidden cameras.

more like nano camers that crawl out of the pack and set themselves up in your home, car, purse and everywhere else you go to monitor to you and your smoking habits! *shudders*

Or nanos that crawl into you like in The Island! :o They hide in the filters.

*EEK* I'm really glad I quit smoking...how long do you think the nano's live???

Oh no, in the filters? Well, it's not the first time there's been a nano hiding in my filter :P

You can do it.  Just don't put so much pressure on yourself that you feel bogged down by it.  I wish you all of the best dear!!!  Honestly!!!

I will be smoke free 1 month in wednesday!!!  Crazy hard but SOOOO worth it.  I feel better, smell better, things taste better & breathing is easier.

Well, in the movie, they came out via #1, so that's why the cig companies rely on chain-smoking...

You'll be OK Beanthai! Just keep trying--it's a good sign that you actually want to quit!

Good luck Beanthai!  I'm sure you'll be smoke free in no time.

My twin used to smoke when we were 18.  My mom and I each paid her $100 to stop.  If she failed then she had to pay each of us $200.  Needless to say it worked.  :D
