How do I break the news to my Mom that I decided to go back to Alaska?
I had a conversation yesterday with my mom, and I told her that I wanted to go back to Alaska. She is strongly against the idea. She doesn't want me to be so far away, but I really really want to go. Her point was that I could go get my PhD from any Univeristy, it doesn't have to be Alaska. She is right on that, and that in Alaska, if anything happens, I am unreachable, she couldn't get to me very cheaply or quickly. She is right there too. She is worried about me. What is a good arguement that I can use? I really want to go, it isn't totally logical. What should I do? I can still back down from UAF, I can still tell them I am not comming, but if I do that then my heart gets all sad like I am missing out on the adventure of a lifetime. What should I do?

She needs to let you spread your wings and fly. Let her know you are blessed to have such a loving and nurturing mother in your life.
