Happy Thoughts for MDVegan

Dear MDVegan-

I can't wait until you come back! I hope you're doing well and that you're having delicious vegan smoothies every day. I'm kind of getting antsy to hear from you, 'cause I miss you so much! You're a real tough vegan cookie, and I really admire your straightforward attitude and determination.

I bet the rest of VegWeb misses you, too! I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and sending you tons of good karma. Pouncival says he misses laying on the phone when I put you on speaker and he wants you to get well soon!

Love,

jeanacorina

You know I have an email!  You have the address!  xoxo

Yeah, well...I was trying to be...sarcastic, or something. Like, duh..email.  ::) haha, I dunno!  :-*

I can't believe someone did that to you and your beautiful face ok, ok, I realize you wanted it done, but you know..
Thank goodness you are on the mend and looking like yourself again!

Cat, my surgery was supposed to take 4 hours but ended up taking 9.5 hours because my surgeon wanted everything perfect.  You only had lower, right?  I think the upper (LeForte II) is what took the most time.  I had that, BSSO, and a little bit of genio work done.  I was in a chemically-induced coma for about 65 hours!  I slept straight through Christmas.

Meggs, can you make a Space account under an assumed name and add me as your only friend?  I'm not on FB.

You absolutely deserve to have everyone amazed and shocked at your uber-surgery, so I will just say that mine was upper and lower and some other random stuff besides and took... well, a while. It was part of an ongoing cleft palate repair so I had some bone grafted in from my hip. That was why I was so amazed - they stuck me in recovery and left me, I think  ;D

(I just came from the Open Letters thread and wrote that in letter format first, ha ha. You should add me on MySpace by the way - just forward slash my username :))

But you don't have horribly graphic surgery pics... or do you?  ???

God no, I make it a point to pretend I never saw the inside of a hospital. The fact that MDV actually volunteered for an osteotomy makes me question her sanity, despite admiring her bravery.

I'm kind of exaggerating. I'm in England so yes, it's National Health. I was under about 12 hours and had a couple in recovery, and I'm told I was under nurse supervision for the first night; after that it was an IV and my mother (also a nurse) for another day. We left early. I do badly in hospitals. But you clearly had some good care going on :)

I'm happy to hear that you're on the mend.

I went online and looked at before and after pictures of jaw osteotomies.  I couldn't really tell the difference, except that all of the after faces looked thinner.

Because ya can't EAT with your mouth wired shut! That's the hardcore way to lose weight, I guess.
