haha. i don't notice a lot of new topics unless i actually ran out of stuff to check and i'm looking for stuff to do.
You guys are the coolest!! I haven't been online much since yesterday AM...yes I did have a happy BD, high temps (36ºC) notwithstanding. We went to the Indian restaurant for lunch and I had some killa lentil dahl and onion bahji (sp?).
On the way back home we stopped at the dept store to soak up some of their AC...and of course wandered thru the DVD section! Would you believe, I found a copy of Jonathan Livingston Seagull!! No extras of course, but now that I have a big screen it's worth buying. When it came out I was 11 yrs old and it was hard to get my v. strict parents to allow me to go to the movies at all. I begged and pleaded and my sister and I finally got the green light. But alas! one of the "cool kids" had a birthday that day and the theatre was full of her friends, laughing and joking to the place the manager stopped the film and came out and yelled at them. Spoiled the movie. So now...popcorn and the Seagull! JLS lives on!
Not content with that, my indie-movie-knowledgeable friend was on duty in the section AND I was able to order a copy of "Dr M"--don't know if it's considered sci-fi, horror or what but it is pleasantly bizarre!
I wish I could have y'all over to see it with me.
