Bald Eagle nest cam!

Check out this Bald Eagle nest cam in Iowa! Yesterday one of the 3 eggs hatched and today there is one growing, peeping, grey fluffy eagle baby in the nest. There are 2 eggs yet to hatch, so there is plenty more action to come. You have to wait until the stupid commercial is over, but it's worth it!!!

Bad ass!
I wonder about the battery life (or if they ran a cord down the tree). No sane person would go near the nest.
I watch similar cams sometimes. There's two cameras always rolling on my friends lake. One is of a loons nest and the other is on an eagles nest (I think).

They actually have pics of the people installing the camera- they climbed up the tree!
Cam Installation
They say the nest is about 80 feet up and 5-6 feet across, about the same deep, and weighs about 1½ tons!!! When you see people next to the nest in the installation pics, it really gives you some perspective of how big it is.
2 of the 3 chicks are hatched now...the parents were just feeding them a little bit ago.
