I'm bored at work and will answer them with the most creative response that I can think of.

Do we need to talk you up? Because that shouldn't be difficult.

For reals. Does he have a girlfriend? That's the only problem that I can see standing in your way, and even then it probably won't be a problem.

I'm a little morally opposed to this if he has a g/f, but you could definitely win out over her, esp if he was cuddling with you.
yeah, like a pep-talk. Not difficult. Easy-peasy considering it's you, Lime.

Trying to boost some confidence here, Meggs...
Don't worry Lime, you've got it in the bag.

Don't work too hard!
Theo, losing a pet is one of the suckiest things that can happen to a human being. I'm so sorry for your loss; his being old or not- it's still super sad. :'(
Sharing memories of him might help alleviate some of the sadness... meh. Sorry I'm not more helpful. I will definitely NOT be a grief counselor.
(((((((Meggs)))))))
I'm sorry to hear about your cat. I agree with PP that you should talk to double h, mdvegan, and secondbase for their thoughts.
In my opinion, there is no real way to cope with the loss of a loved one. For now, you need to mourn. You will come to terms with this eventually and the pain will subside.
Sending e-hugs your way!

Who's pet?
It's been six months and I still feel bad for killing Cat. I'm definitely down for not telling someone to feel better about sucky things.

Mine. And it's ok, I don't expect you to tell me to feel better because you're right it's a sucky sucky thing and it's just something that has to be got through - feeling bad is inescapable for a while. And that's the process.
I'm so so sorry that you're still feeling bad about Cat, I know you loved him and how hard it must be.
Thinking of you in commiseration *hugs*
What I meant by that was that I'm a good person to talk to because I'm not going to say it doesn't suck or to help people look at the good side of things. It sucks. That's it.
What happened?
He was old (about 14 years-ish) and hadn't been very well for a while because he has never been able to eat much and as he got older it meant he wasn't getting enough nutrition so his system was under strain. But over the last few months my parents had been following the vets advice and giving him special food and he was improving amazingly...eating well, still jumping and exploring, cleaning and looking after himself, being friendly and affectionate.
Then a week ago he just disappeared. We thought he'd had a fright because a man came to mow the lawns that day, so we thought that maybe he'd been startled and run off and not made it back :( But we talked to the lawnmowing man today and he said that the entire time he was there, Earl Grey sat on the deck beside my dog, quite calmly and peacefully and watched him mow the lawns, and as he left he looked back and saw them both still sitting there and it made him smile.
So that was the last time anyone saw him. He must have just known it was his time to go, so he took himself off as old cats do. But we were so so glad to hear that it wasn't because of a fright and he wasn't running scared, he was calm and peaceful and my dog kept him company that last day.
So yea. He was old and it was his time...I just miss him like crazy. We got him when I was six, so he was there my entire life and I'm mourning the loss of a friend, even though I know he had to go.
:'(
It's good to hear that Earl Grey had Theo friend there for support. Hopefully, Theo was able to give as much calming influence to Earl Grey as dogs give to humans.
I'm so sorry. Do you have a picture of Earl Grey that we could see?

This is him maybe 5 or 6 years back, in his absolute prime.

I'm in instant love. I love his expression. It's a bit like Cat's.
Was he big or fluffy or both?
He was incredibly fluffy with a tiny frame - he was close to kitten sized as an adult but all the fur made him look as big as a regular sized cat :) He had the best glare and glower, looks so grumpy but he was just easygoing and friendly all the time.
Haha its cool you can recognise Cat in his expression! Did he glare too, or stare intently at you?
Cat sounds a bit like Earl Grey. Cat glared, possibly as a cat-ego cover for how laid back he was.
It's funny about all of the fluff. Earl Grey looks large. How's Theo doing?
Yea it must be an ego thing, proving their cat-manliness. Was Cat blimmin cheeky as well?
It was quite funny, everyone thought he was fat then picked him up and he weighed nothing.
Theo is ok, he and our other cat Lipton have been being more affectionate and sticking close by us since he disappeared, animals always know, so we are all looking after each other. It's really nice that I was able to come home and be with my parents and the other animals.
