anyone participated in AmeriCorps NCCC? NVR

I'm thinking (actually, seirously considering) taking a year off next year after graduating from HS to join AmeriCorps NCCC and I'm wondering if any of you have done this program yourself of know of any other excellent ways to spend a year off (preferably away from home haha I'm not looking to stick around and work...)

I did AmeriCorps the year after highschool in my home state. I loved it. I grew as a person plus I was able to contribute a lot to society. I highly recommend it!

I think you have to have a college degree (or at least some college) to be in the peace corps.

Yeah I learned the Peace Corps is hard to get in! The process is really long, but that way only people who are serious go through the process. I don't think you *have* to have college, but it helps. But any age can join which is good.
