animals laughing

short video regarding animals ability to laugh:

It'll be cool when science can PROVE to those non-believers that animals DO have feelings, emotions, etc.  I wish there was more info regarding the specifics of this study...

(I don't agree with everyhthing touted by this dr on his site -he's not veg*n- but some of his stuff is pretty neat).

That's really sweet.

I think it's so cool how those researchers thought "Hey, maybe they are laughing and our crappy human ears just can't hear it." Just because we can't see/hear/*insert other sensory perception* doesn't mean it's not there...

I liked that!  :)
Our dog has a totally different sound that he makes when he plays & I've said for years that he is laughing.....I think I am right  ;)

That's neat.

I don't understand HOW people can think animals don't have emotions. My dog, Roark, has facial expression. He smiles, he frowns, he looks puzzled, he's happy, he's sad, he's frustrated, etc. He "talks" to me ... the sounds he makes mean different things at different times.

The parrot here at work laughs. He's quite cheeky, actually. He remembers the time when I burnt some tortillas and the fire alarm went off. So now he will make that sound when I'm cooking and it actually sounds like the alarm so I run out there to turn it off only to find the bird sitting there. Then He has the audacity to LAUGH at me. Really laugh. He's imitating a humans laughter but hes using it when something funny happens. Hes a smart little guy- if not devilishly sneaky... ;)

I agree, we just don't see or hear the laughter--sometimes scientists are looking for what they expect to see and not very observant!  ;)

When we had our cat, we also had a round table in the lvg room with a cloth that went down to the floor. One night I stumbled out to the kitchen (through the lvg room) for a drink of water. I was so comatose I forgot we even had a cat. Saul jumped out at me from under the table and I almost jumped OVER it! He walked out into the middle of the room as cool as a cat can be (and that's cool) and sat down and just looked at me. I swear, he was laughing!
