chips are also a necessary component of all chipotle visits. omnomnomnom calories, indeed :) my laziness is the only thing that's stopping me from getting it right now.

Oh, my! So I had their "Garden Blend" made with Gardein two days ago. My friend and I drove to the beach and came to a screeching halt when we passed Chipotle. This addiction is really unhealthy. But anyways, this garden blend stuff is awesome. The seagulls who STOLE OUR LUNCHES while we were in the water though so, too >:( We all highly recommend it.

I had Qdoba in O'Hare once. I prefer Chipotle.
There's a place called California Tortilla in the DC metro that I remember really liking. I think it's a little more off-menu though so getting it vegan might require some special ordering... maybe another DC person can clue me in?

According to http://www.vegdc.com/: "Tex-Mex fare for under $7.00. Great bean and rice or vegetable burritos and salads. Be sure to specify no cheese and no sour cream, or just order their vegan-ready "No-Meato Burrito". The guacamole and chips are vegan."

No, it's Chipotle you're thinking of. From Wiki:
"From 1998 to 2006, McDonald's Corporation owned a majority interest in Chipotle, but fully divested their interest in 2006."

Someone told me that they weren't owned by McDonald's anymore...can you buy yourself out of McDonalds?
Chipotle is now a publicly traded company, so they're owned by the shareholders. But McDonald's could still be a big shareholder, who knows. Ever notice how half the population pronounces it like "Chipotle" and the other half like "Chipolte"? :) I try to avoid saying it for fear that I'l say it the wrong way ;D
that reminds me of (eeew) those old jack in the box commercials- the one where jack couldn't say chipotle, and his mouth was all squiggly.... I've only been to Chipotle one time, and right after I left, I ended up getting one of the most severe migranes of my life. ( I was a meat eater then, but I'm sure it was coincidence) So the thought of it makes my head hurt. I'm sure one day I'll try it again.

funny this comes up now, as i went to qdoba for the first time yesterday. and yes, it was better than chipotle.
they ran out of veggies, and had to make them fresh. and what do you know - made in a skillet over a fire. they tasted GRILLED. it was beautiful.
on the other hand, it certainly costs more than chipotle.
