weird food combinations that are so good!

Often not enough to be a recipe, I'd love it we could share some of the weird and unexpected food combinations that we love.

Here is my recent favourite: roasted chickpeas in cereal (they are hard and crunchy)
;D

I used to eat uncooked ramen noodles when I was little sometimes. Haha. The kind that came in a brick in a package. I hated that stuff cooked, though :p

That's totally something we used to do in grade school! It was like a fad...

this isnt too weird but i love potato chips inside my pb & j sandwiches.. preferably ones like ruffles, mmm.  makes me want one now - it's been forever!

I have always liked tortilla chips on my peanut butter sandwiches, sans jelly. I was making myself one during a family gathering and my aunt saw me, "You still do that?

I don't think it's weird but I love mustard on my french fries because I've always hated ketchup. Really, I just love mustard of any variety on anything. To laurabs: mustard on mashed potatoes is good.

Mustard on anything is good. I mean decent mustard, not the yellow weenie mustard kind. As a toddler I had to be watched because I would eat mustard with a spoon; also oleomargarine. As some people know, mustard is an excellent emetic. I didn't eat it for that, I just liked the sharp flavour, esp. the grainy kind. But I would make myself sick if not stopped.

I don't recall whether I mentioned marmite sandwiches with salt & vinegar potato chips in them. Yumbles. (Sadly though, not vegan. I cannot get s&v (or any other flavour) chips without stupid milk powder in the flavouring. And then there's the MSG. >:( Pleh.)

Add the calorie count to that, Heli. They had s.& v. crisps at the local LIDL and I looked at a small individual bag...over 200 cals for that stuff! For a microserving!  :o Back on the shelf it went!!

Can you get Kettle chips? (You can order them) They have vegan salt and vinegar.

Oh yeah! As a kid I used to just open the box of jello and eat the crystals with a spoon. This will ALSO turn your tongue the colour of the crystals, mind, so it's kinda hard to fib that it "wasn't you" when Mom misses the Jello later.

Sprinkle it on icecream, too.

I snorted Crystal Light to see what would happen. What happened was that a bunch of other people tried it as well. Lulz were had, as the stuff is kind of painful.

(We also couldn't tell whether this one kid had a nosebleed, or really bad raspberry drips.)

potato salad, tofutti cheese, and a gerkin picklle on a cracker. Even if you omit the potato salad, it's great.

Yeah, though my brain knows how incredibly fatty and nutritionless chips are, sometimes my tongue and tummy win the decision-making. ::)

The kettle chips made in New Zealand all have milk powder, except the plain salted (true for other chips too). I don't think my conscience would allow me to order chips from overseas, even if they are vegan. But thanks. ;) ;D
