Often not enough to be a recipe, I'd love it we could share some of the weird and unexpected food combinations that we love.
Here is my recent favourite: roasted chickpeas in cereal (they are hard and crunchy)
;D
I make a sandwich with tofutti cream cheese, apricot preserves, and caramelized onions. I'm also a madwoman with lime vinaigrette salad dressing, I'll put it on anything!
just thinking of that sandwich baffles me. heh. onions cream cheese and preserves. i jsut have no idea what it would taste like heh. i guess it could be like an onion bagel with cream cheese and jelly. hmmm.
grilled "cheese" is also great with ketchup or avocados (or both!) grilled inside too.
I like to eat grits sandwiches...my mom makes fun because it's "too many grains" or some bull like that
And when I was little I liked cheerios with coke. What a little freak I was

Well Cheerios and Coke is no weirder than Fritos and Pepsi, which is what my sister's first of many husbands lived on...
I used to eat boiled-potato sandwiches with mayo. My husband grew up in Spain during the postwar famine, and he remembers going on a hike with some friends. Most of them had the classic Spanish egg-and-potato omelette "tortilla" sandwich, on baguettes. One of the group, though, was so poor his mom had sent him with a noodle sandwich...it was all they had. Plain old boiled noodles. It made me want to cry when he told me.

I had a friend whose house I would go to when I was in elementry school and I would always eat the same thing there - honeynut cheerios without any kind of milk and with ripped up pieces of cheddar cheese!
What is it with cereal and their versatility?

Indeed!! nummy! :P
Marmite sammiches with salt & vinegar chips in dem. (I wish I wish I could find vegan S&V chips... :()
I dunno if this is weird, but: avocado mooshed on marmite toast. Yumbles.
And I've never tried this one, but it's gotta be weird: sugar on avocado. :o
a guy i knew would toss a handfull of salted peanuts into his cup of coke and then eat the peanuts when he finished the drink.. the salt would dissolve into the coke and the coke would soften the peanuts a little bit and make them sweet. i tried it once & it wasn't bad.. definitely not as weird as i thought it would be.
Mashed potatoes with Harvard beets on top. <Homer drool>
Man, some of this stuff is NUTS. :) I consider myself pretty adventurous about what ingredients I eat, but apparently not how I eat it. I like my foods segregated-- I'm the girl who doesn't like her food to touch on a plate.
According to my omni boyfriend all my food is weird ;)
OMG I can't get a grilled cheese with pickles out of my freakin' head! I wish I had some pickles and I keep forgetting to buy them!!!! :(

Ha ha- you are now a stereotypical pregnant woman! Craving pickles! ;)
I LOVE avacados straight up with a little salt and pepper. I didn't do this until I went vegan and discovered how so dang yummy they are :D
Right now, I'm lacto-veg. I was hungry and lazy, so I made a grilled cheese with pickles slices inside it. I don't know why I did it, but it tasted really good. This works great with dill pickle slices.
I won't eat a grilled cheese sandwich without pickles! Big garlic dills... oooh my mouth is watering!
Good. I'm not weird (more people posted about pickles .... so I feel normal). But I thought I made it up :'( ;) :D
pineapple with soy sauce :P
bread with soy sauce. especially on pizza.
one time i had a mini-potluck with some friends at the end of the semester in my bio class. i was to bring the guacamole and cookies, someone else would bring the chips, and so on... turns out chip-person forgot and only had a mini bag of doritos (sigh, potlucks.). we ate the guacamole with the chocolate cookies i brought. pretty good, though the chocolate pretty much overpowers the avocado.
wow. some of these are super creative.
i think the weirdest thing I eat is at work, I grill a piece of seitan, put some of our special "rachael sauce" on it and top it with our coleslaw. mmmm mmm mm. I <3 it.
plum sauce seems to work suprisingly well on most dinner foods too (rice, beans, polenta, shepard's pie....)
kimchi and walnuts!!! so good, they taste exactly like doritos. i discovered this in a moment of desperation/extreme laziness when i needed to eat something and didn't want to go food shopping. it was the only thing in the house besides flour and dry beans.
try it! it seriously rules.
Grits with soy sauce and nutritional yeast (don't knock it 'til you've tried it--it's really very yummy!) :)
