Preschool snacks

Once a month I have to bring snacks for 30 three-year-olds. It has to include two food groups, one of which has to be protein. So far I've thought of hummus and dippers, pigs in a blanket, bean and corn salad, peanut butter and banana sandwiches...BUT I also have to bring a snack for my daughter everyday, in case the one the other parent brings isn't vegan. Any ideas? Cheap ideas?
Ants on a log ;D (peanut butter in celery, with raisins on it, though, its good with or without raisins)
Tortilla roll-ups (you can put a variety of fillings in)
Peanut butter and crackers or fruit
Tortilla chips with bean dip or cheeze dip*
Fruit with soy yogurt* for dipping
*Do dairy substitutes count as protein? ???
Also, you can make hummus (or any bean dip) a million different ways, so you could try doing different flavors and mixing up the dippers (carrot sticks, crackers, pretzels, etc).
Oatmeal Griddle Cakes

Mini English muffin pizzas topped with marinara sauce and veggies

Spread some peanut butter on a tortilla, sprinkle with sunflower seeds, and drizzle with agave nectar and/or chopped berries. I love these but I made the "recipe" in a child development class in high school.
The schools my kids go to were among the last holdouts, but now they are nut-free, so you might want to check on the allergy situation before bringing in pb.
Edamame in pods are always popular. Homemade muffins (with added hemp seeds). Grapes and definitely popcorn if the kids are at least two. Teeny tiny nature burgers or falafel with applesauce and ketchup. Fruit strips and flax-seed crackers. Mango lassis (made with soy yogurt instead of milk yogurt) and pretzels.
Ugh! Sounds like a pain!!!!
If I couldn't have had peanut butter in school, I would have starved! It's so cheap; it was a necessary and delicious lunch. I propose that children with nut allergies be banned from the school or maybe isolated in their own nut-free lunch zone.
...I can't decide if I'm joking or not about that actually.
You could bring in some paper cups and blender with fruit and make smoothies.... the smoothies can have soymilk or soy protein powder.... fruit, etc.... or maybe have it blended ahead of time... sounds like fun and yummy
What they said /\ ....
plus
Fruit slices and (high protein ??) cold cereal (no milk) in a muffin liner
Cut veggies, taco chips with salsa or little 7 layer dip (one dish per table)
You could use sunflower seed butter instead of peanut butter... this is what I do for my twinkies.
Don't know if hummus or beans would go over well with the omni 3 year old set... I can imagine 29 three year olds going ewwwwwwwwwwww in unison! ::)
At my kids daycare they have to eat 5 pieces of fruit or veggies before they get the "good" stuff (i.e. the chips and salsa).
Thanks, guys! Keep 'em coming! There are no nut allergies, so pb is OK, BUT...I can't bring milk alternatives for some as yet unknown reason. They didn't say anything about fake cheese or yoghurt though.
