:o :o :o :o :o
holy moly...i just turned on the tv, and there's our darlin' paula deen using TOFU!!!
ok, so they fried the whole tofu cake, and added fish sauce and shrimp to the recipe....some kinda pad thai, i think.
but she held the tofu!!!! :o even said it looked good!
this has created a wrinkle in the universe, methinks...and im scared what else will happen in the cosmos now... :-\
Oh. My. Hell. I'ts a sign of the apocolypse. What is her damage with the cake frying? I think she needs an intervention. She did that at Thanksgiving, and I bet that wasnt' the first time.
whoa. :o
I have to see this.
just the thought of her cooking with tofu makes me gag :boooo:
worlds are colliding
I think it's funny how she starts scarfing down whatever she's made and you can tell she can't help herself-- she has a serious addiction to mayonnaise, cream cheese, butter, sour cream, eggs, meat lol! One time I saw her make a stuffed hamburger that I think had fried egg, cream cheese, mayo and sour cream on it....and as she bit into it the yolk was all running out....very gross :-X You can just watch her gain weight as the minutes progress on her show-- poor lady :'(
she didn't cover it in chocolate and dip it in mayo? :D
AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!
<runs in crazy circles with hands over head>
I think I feel my face squinching up as the galaxy implodes...wait? What's that you say? She added sugar - whew! All has been balanced again:

Holy crap, I can't believe she cooked tofu! I wonder if this is sort of a Food Network joke-- after all, practically none of the mainstream cooks do tofu, much less someone like Paula Deen. Their way of trying to balance out the universe a bit? Of course, only fitting that it's fried.

Wow, heart attack on a bun. That's repulsive.
Paula Deen is such an easy target for veg*ns. ::)
Hold me, somebody, I'm frightened!! ;D
Next thing you know Paul Rhoades will be using tempeh...covered in beef gravy, of course...

Poor lady my arse. Read about her affiliation with the horrendous Smithfield Foods- animal abusers and murderers, desecrators of the environment, slave-driving monsters that grind their workers down to a nub.
She takes their money and makes excuses for them. I'd call her a pig but I like pigs.

I like this insult, I'm going to have to remember to use it
:pig: <---- cute piggy makes me smile :)
Paula Deen makes me sick! (where is the barfing smiley?)
I'd call her a pig but I like pigs.

This reminds me of an insult that was current when I was learning obedience training for dogs: "I very seldom use the words "prize b*tch" to speak about a human being--but in her case, I'll make an exception." It was much more effective in a milieu where "b*tch" was a technical term....
Oh my...Paula Deen. Well im glad she was praising it at least, tofu is yummy.

groooosssss. i had this boyfriend that ate those (minus the cream cheese and sour cream, but plus two slices of that kraft american cheese) and he ate one when i was at his house once, and the yolk was all eww and runny and i almost threw up. seriously. i was in the bathroom, gagging. bleh. we broke up, and i have to say, i was not that upset. ;D
I think she bleeds Crisco :P

she also said it looked good b/c it looked just like cheese....so, maybe a backhanded compliment?? :-[

she was on Larry King one day, and a caller brought up the issues w/ Smithfield, and PD just responded basically, that she had visited the factory and it "looked" nice and the workers were all wonderful.
but, we know about her judgement, right? :-\
update on Paula watch: today she made a BLT soup....
renderinig pork and when it "was all nice and the fat was cooked out"...she didnt drain it, NO, she instead dropped in a half a stick of butter! :-[ then proceded to cook some iceberg lettuce down in it...blahblah...then garnished it w/ a dollop of sourcream/ mayo.
oh, arteries!! ;D
please, for the love of tofu, tell me it wasn't iceburg lettuce.
what's the point? when is it okay to cook lettuce *insert barf face*
Baypuppy, there is a very nice recipe on here which I submitted for "hot lettuce" (I think maybe I called it fried lettuce) which is the only use I have for Iceberg lettuce. It's one of those local Chinese recipes you'll never see in a restaurant because it won't wait, you have to be sitting right there the minute it's done or it will kind of "collapse." I use it because my DH only likes Iceberg, and only likes the heart, so I'm stuck with about 2/3 of a tasteless thing that thinks it's a vegetable. And is rather expensive in Spain compared to Romaine.

Actually, it cooks up nicely, especially when cooked with other vegetables.
And in continuing my contrarian mode: I have to say that while I think her cooking is an abomination, Paula Deen does inspire a lot of people. The whole agoraphobia thing, and learning to cook with whatever she could grab from the shelves nearest the supermarket entrance--she has definitely overcome some obstacles.
