purple mark from dog bite, what do I do

Today I got bit...by a dog! :( :o
So... my hand has this big blush purple mark where there is a vein on my other hand. What is it? Should I be worried? The skin isn't broken there is just the weird mark near the base of my palm and wrist.
Was it a stray or your dog? Make sure it doesn't have rabies if it was a stray.
Sounds like hematoma. It's exactly the same thing as a bruise (blood under the skin) only involves more blood. I've had those before and they aren't anything to worry about.
