OMG...Regarding Cali...+
Well I just had a good cry! I have been so worried about how bald she is, I didn't realize one side of her now has a soft down. And her back end on one side is actually starting a little peach fuzz. My dear sweet Cali IS getting better. She really is. She is even becoming a little more social. Meaning, she is leaving her bedroom three or more times to come downstairs. None of this started until I started using Natural Cellular Defense, ImmunoPLUS and Hemoxide. All natural and all organic. As well, rubbing diluted tea tree oil on her skin. She is also getting Omega fatty acids, Vitamin C and bone meal. I have stopped everything else. Nothing like coming home tonight and her eye was glued shut with blood. Thankfully, I realized that a huge scab had opened on her forehead and the blood had dripped down to her eye. I bathed it with warm water.
Cali will be hiking again this spring or summer and she WILL be camping in the Adirondacks in July. After giving her the nasty stuff, I made a decision not to do that again....EVER. I have put total faith in the things I am now using on her and already the results are amazing. To someone who didn't see her two weeks ago, you would think she looked horrendous. To me, she looks great! I saw how she was and how she is now. Huge huge difference. Please keep up the positive vibes and prayers as Cali still needs all the love she can get. We have all seen what positive thoughts can do. Well, I truly believe everything is going her way. She is finally going to be the fun loving pup I got in September. The one that ran so fast in the park that she would wipe out. The one who ran figure eights and than skidded in the grass and got grass stains on her fur. The one that ran so fast that sometimes to stop, she would smash in to my shins. She actually hit my shins so hard one day she knocked herself over and well......hurt my shins! I love this dog. Isabela is probably looking down with a huge happy smile on her face. Knowing that Calista (the most beautiful one) Cali now really has a chance at life. It is in memory of Isabela that I have Cali in my life. As long as there in a chance, never give up on your furred, feathered or finned, companions. There is always hope. Oops, I guess I forgot scaly reptilian companions too. Love comes in many ways and hearts are big, OK, I am getting mushy but tonight was a great night! You have all been a great inspiration and the most huge big thank you to Declan in Seattle who has gone the extra mile to ensure that Cali gets well. As well, he has been a huge inspiration in my life to make me stay positive and he helped me better understand and feel better about Isabela's passing.
Thank you everyone. Thank you!
Hugs Di, Cali, Tobi, Harold Catarina Blue, Emma Orange Blossom, Smedley Hoover, Yellow Bird, Zeke and of course, Biko Robert Dela Rose!
As well, thank you VegWeb for allowing us to get off topic so that we can share our feelings on just about everything.
Also, a very special thanks to Davedrum! I so very appreciate it!!
What a relief and how wonderful for you and Cali! It looks like the road is all uphill from here. The better she feels the quicker she'll feel even better. More good vibes coming your way... :)

What good news! I'm so glad! How awesome is it that both Cali and Sweetheart are improving? I'm smiling with you both.
:D
Wonderful for both Cali and Sweetheart!!!!!
Tonight I found out a little more about Cali's past. I thought her mom and one sibling had been killed. In reality I guess they were because they were on the streets and should have been in a home. Cali, her three living siblings, dead mom and dead sibling were found January 31st, 2006. They were found in the streets of Greece and it was very cold. They were all bald. From mange. Hence they are afraid to send me the picture. Now I have to change her birthday! The pups were very little and their eyes were closed. (Figure the pups were 4 - 6 weeks old). Eyes were maybe still closed due to health issues. The most kind thing to do at that point was to euthanize the pups as they were in very bad shape. On the way to be euthanized, they opened their eyes. The rest is history. The kind people who found them could not do it. Apparently in the picture, one of the pups looks like a little Gremlin. That has to be Cali because of her ears. One pup in the picture has a bit of hair and they think it is probably Irma, Cali's sister. It truly appears that all four siblings have different dads. It always blows me away that dogs and cats can have different dads. But, while the females are in heat, they can have many partners. I know I will get to see the picture one day and I want to. I want to know where she started from. I did not have that opportunity with Isabela. I was blessed to have someone send me pictures they had taken when she was a street dog. It gave me insight to the life she lived.
As for the Gremlin, Cali kind of looks like one now with her big ears and bald face. I have been so blessed in the past with the dogs I have shared my life with. Cali being no exception. She has been given a second chance in life and come h*ll or highwater, I am going to make sure she has that chance.
Thanks again everyone for you kind wishes. I guess it has been a great day for Cali and little "Sweetheart". They both have love in their lives.
Hugs
Di
