I was on the phone with my mom and all of a sudden she started freaking out because her dog, Yoshi (Yo), couldn't walk! I told her to get him to the vet right away and I called them for her, but now I am worried about him...her too, Yo means everything to her! I wish I could be with her right now, but I am over an hour and a half away. :'( I told her to call me when she knows something. Anyway, if you alll could keep Yo in your thoughts and prayers, I sure would appreciate it! Thanks...
:( I hope everything turns out ok!
Thank you AC, me too!
gosh, that is so scary. I really hope Yo makes it through okay.
Loving thoughts are sent to Yo, you and your family! :)>>>

Thank you so much! That means a lot!
My mom called me a little while ago. She took Yo to the vet and they said he had a seizure, but said because of his age they doubt it would be epilepsy. So they did bloodwork and suspect possible toxicity or a brain tumor! They will know more once they get the test results next week.
I'm sorry to hear about Yo....I hope he's o.k. Will be thinking about you guys today.

I hope he is ok. Our doggies have always been part of our family just as I am sure "Yo" is so I know what you guys are going through. Sending healing energy your way.
Im sorry to hear about Yo. I'll be praying for Yo and your mom today. Let us know as more develpoes. :flower2:
(((hugs))) to each of you! Thank you so much for the thoughts and prayers. Mom said Yo is happy to be back home and hopefully we will know something more by early next week. He is definitely a much loved member of the family.
So Yo is an older dog? I guess that your mom's vet would know about this, but the first thing I thought of was vestibular disease. My elderly dog had it a couple of times--suddenly their balance is shot and they think they're falling down when they're not, and they keep trying to catch themselves (and thus falling down). We thought he'd had a stroke, but our vet took one look at him and knew. He got over it on his own. Did Yo recover right away? If he's already over it, then it wouldn't be vestibular disease. It takes a few days of falling over and running into things before they get over it.
One of my other dogs is epileptic. We found out that he also suffered from hypothyroidism and when we treated the that it decreased the frequency and severity of his seizures.
Of course, neither of these may relate to Yo's problem, but I just wanted to let you know that it may not be as dire as it seems. I know how scary this sort of thing can be! I hope he'll be okay!

Thank you! :)
Yo is about 8 years old or so. We're not really sure as he is a rescue. My mom said he recovered in about 10 minutes.
I had a dog that had a seizure disorder and the first time it happened, it scared the bejeebers out of me! They ended up putting her on meds, which she took her whole life. I used to feel so helpless when she was seizing...
Anyway, hopefully, it's just an isolated incident with Yoshi and they'll be able to figure out what happened and why.
