what songs made you cry?

I'm about to reveal myself as the country fan that I am...I really like these songs even though they make me cry.
"Alyssa lies" by Jason Michael Carroll and "The Little Girl" John Micheal Montgomery can both be heard on youtube. But you will cry.
Also the star spangled banner...lol...I hate to sound too patriotic, but I get weepy at baseball games when I hear that one.
What songs have made you cry?
oh my god. 'Alyssa Lies' will forever haunt my soul! I tear up just thinking about it!!!!
other tearkerkers for me:
Tim McGraw - If You're Reading This
Blake Shelton - The Baby
Kellie Pickler - I Wonder
Martina McBride - God's Will
Johnny Cash - Hurt
Eric Church - Lightning
Lots of songs make me cry...but one that gets me everytime is Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion. I put that one on a Memorial DVD I had done for my dad.
After all this time by Rodney Crowell, and The First Time Ever I saw Your Face by Roberta Flack
it kind of depends what mood i am in... usually "Sophia" by Nerina Pallot can make me cry. "Fix You" by coldplay
also certain songs by Rachael Yamagata, like "even so" and "ode to..."
"full of grace" by sarah mclachlan. that is a sad, sad song...
The Lord of the Rings soundtrack. Any part of it. I lose it. :'(
Now I wanna go watch Lord of the Rings in its entirety.
Streets Of London by Ralph McTell.
Mother by Tori Amos.
Bridal Train by The Waifs.
The Last Unicorn by America. (Mostly when I try to sing along with it... I get all choked up. I love that book.)
Queen Of The Slipstream by Van Morrison.
There are many more, but these spring to mind. :)
Oh, there are so many! In part the words of some songs, but usually it's just the melody that can tear me to shreds in a heartbeat. I have synasthesia, which may be part of it, I percieve sound differently to most folks. (I think it may be genetic, my cousin has it too, and his twin whom I don't know but he says she does.)
In terms of mindless songs that will make me cry, Judy Collins singing the theme song of "Wind in the Willows" (an early 80's Rankin-Bass cartoon, if you can believe it) will get me every single time.
Just about anything sung by David Gates.
"If you leave me now" by Chicago
"You left me (just when I needed you most)"--not sure of the artist, it was a long time ago.
And for some silly reason, "Jesus Reviens" sung by anyone at all. It just tears me apart, even though the melody is schmaltzy in the extreme and the words are pure saccharine.
Some instrumental music will turn on the waterworks, too.
Even after four decades, Honey by Bobby Goldsborough still makes me cry most of the time. I usually change radio stations after the first couple of notes. Probably the most schmaltzy song of all time. :-[
In my Life by The Beatles
Nude by Radiohead
So Happy Together by The Turtles...long story
Funny, someone just posed this question on my other forum recently. I must have a heart of stone because I can't think of a single song that makes me all soft and weepy.

wow, really? but at least there are some movies that made you cry so you cant be totally heartless. ;) I had to limit myself to three or I'd be going on and on all day! HA ha...i looked up some of the ones you guys posted...OMG, God's will! Cried like a baby...and "mother" is a tear jerker too, but I think most of Tori Amoses songs make me weepy!
Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam... also a long story.
Wild Horses, by The Rolling Stones.....also, a long story.....

Hee hee hee. Very fond memories of Streets of London. The version sung by Miller's Jug, a Cape Breton band. Doesn't make me cry though. Makes me smile.

Honey still makes me cry. I had a little hamster named Honey. The song brings back memories of how much I loved her and was devestated I was when she died.
I Will Always Love You. Sung by both Dolly Parton and Whitney Houston.
Mama sung by Il Divo
Wild Horses..The Stones. Brings back bittersweet memories of a love long lost.
Memories..Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Danny Boy
The Band Played Waltzing Matilda
Goodbye my Lover: James Blunt
In the Arms of Angels: Sarah McLaughlin
Angels Flying to Close to the Ground: Willie Nelson
Time to Say Goodbye: Andrea Bocelli
OK, I am a sap.
Goodbye my Lover: James Blunt
Oh dear. I had never heard this song before, but I am watching the video and crying my eyes out. Right now. :'( :waa: :'(

The funny thing is this song doesn't make me think of a lover. It came out about the time my beautiful street dog from Mexico, Isabela died. I hear it and I replace I put her hand in mine with I put her paw in mine.
I so love my Greek animal rescue dog Cali, but not a day goes by that I don't think of Isabela. Doesn't help that I have 3 or 4 pictures of her on my desk along with many of Cali.
James Blunt sings beautiful songs and apparently they are all from life experiences.
I only wish I could share my life with both Cali and Isabela together. They would have so loved each other.
Of course, when I miss my boyfriend if I haven't seen him in a few days, I think of him when I hear this song.
Now on a really funny note, Goodbye my Lover was on the top 10 songs played at funerals when it came out. James Blunt said, I didn't know there was a top 10 funeral song list! :-)
Depends on my mood, but if anything is going to make me cry it'll be "Breathe Me" by Sia.
Or maybe it's just the final six minutes of the Six Feet Under finale that really makes me cry...
