Song Lyrics - very NVR

I have tried and tried and searched and searched....I need some help from my fellow vegwebbers.  Having not seen a good sappy romantic comedy in a long while, I saw "P.S. I love you this" last night.  I really liked it! But now I am going crazy looking for the name of the song from the movie.   For those that have seen it, it is the part were Gerry is on stage singing and he says "this is an Amercian song, hope you like it" The words are something like "...and her eyes were blue"  Then the whole crowd joins in and sings what sounds like "eee, i eee i eee!"

The other song I want to know is the one Hilary Swank sings for her karoke, the fast song where she starts dancing around on stage and falls and breaks her nose.

I realize this is somewhat silly posting this but I'd appreciate the help. I have that song in my head!  It's not on the soundtrack CD either. :(

i don't know where you looked, but did you try going to IMDB and looking up the songs? i think they usually have a pretty complete list.

you probably already looked and i am no help.

Yep...this is a newly released movie so IMDB didn't have all the songs out there yet.  Not much info about the movie at all on IMDB actually...  :(

I didn't realize you already searched the soundtrack (missed that part) so that's what I did first...

Then I did a little more research and came up with this song by Steve Earle called The Galway Girl:
Well, I took a stroll on the old long walk
Of a day -I-ay-I-ay
I met a little girl and we stopped to talk
Of a fine soft day -I-ay-I-ay
And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do
'Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue
And I knew right then I'd be takin' a whirl
'Round the Salthill Prom with a Galway girl

We were halfway there when the rain came down
Of a day -I-ay-I-ay
And she asked me up to her flat downtown
Of a fine soft day -I-ay-I-ay
And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do
'Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue
So I took her hand and I gave her a twirl
And I lost my heart to a Galway girl

When I woke up I was all alone
With a broken heart and a ticket home
And I ask you now, tell me what would you do
If her hair was black and her eyes were blue
I've traveled around I've been all over this world
Boys I ain't never seen nothin' like a Galway girl

??????

Edit: was it a good movie? the trailers made me want to cry.

lol. i think this is funny because one of my room mates who likes that kind of stuff LOVED that book, and while she was reading it i kept saying (after telling her something) "p.s. i hate you" and told her if they made that a book i would read it.

ha!  Well, she must have special Wiki powers.  I consulted the almighty Wiki and it did not reveal its secrets to me.

Steve Earle is flippin' awesome. Megapreesh on that song, too.

Secondbase, what are some other flippin' awesome Steve Earle songs?  I am not familar with his music.  And at the risk of being a dork....megapreesh?   What does that mean?  ???

I ain't never satisfied.

I saw him at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival over the summer and he was incredible. My dad is way into him, so I'll ask him about some lesser known Steve Earle jams.

megapreesh = mega appreciation. (i always say appreesh instead of appreciation)

No Wiki was involved in the naming of this song.

I swear my twin remembers the lyrics to every song she's ever heard.  ???  Same thing with movies.  She makes a good teammate when playing things like Scene It.
