I heard a girl on the radio this morning say that "it's the same devestation that I felt on 9/11".
Seriously? Obama being president is just like thousands of people dying? ??? >:(
I also think it's funny that people are saying they are going to move to Canada. You know, since the US is going to become more like Canada.

"Did Obama buy the election?" More like M/P & Corporate America tried to but failed. I'm sure everyone noticed how gas prices slooowly went down with the "low peak" being right before the election. I got gas for $1.96 on Monday. $1.96!!! The cheapest it has been in 3 years a day before the election. The stock markets had 2 +500 days prior to the election, and now that Obama's in, yesterday and today have been 2 big -500 days. Coincidence? I don't think so. All of these big corporations have too much power in controlling the economy.
That people with a name like Barack Obama shouldn't be president. That he'll turn the U.S. into a socialist state ( by people who would'nt know the definition of the word if someone asked what they meant).
Ugh. I hate this. My sister's boyfriend had "I can't believe I'm gonna be living in the United Socialist States of America" as his facebook status right after the election. I really wish people would investigate things before they make judgments.

Someone on teh internet mentioned how they (turrists) were dancing in the streets in Afghanistan because Obama won. Seriously? Don't those people know they have a war going on?

Wasn't there a recession when Clinton was elected?
yeah I was under the impression that g. bush sr. brought on a recession in the 80s, clinton reestablished order in our economy and then g w fucked it up again. but my info comes from the boy and not my own research.
The Gulf war brought on a bit of a recession, but nothing like we're seeing now. Once we got out of the war, everything slowly went back to normal. Clinton became president at the end of the cold war, and I'd say for the most part he had a pretty easy ride in the white house until the Lewinsky scandal.
Maybe because of good leadership/ diplomacy?

Yup. I had to block a couple of Internet contacts that started out as normal people and morphed into "Obama is a muslim who is going to touch off Armageddon" wierdos. Among other things, he is going to force everyone to be microchipped, aka the Mark of the Beast. Either that or force us to get electromagnetic bar codes tattooed on our foreheads.

ETA: Add to that the idea that the world is coming to an end for sure because there's no more room in the Papal Gallery of the Sistine Chapel for another pope's portrait...surreal.

I have a feeling that most of them believe Obama to be mostly a tool for Satan, and not the antichrist itself. I believe there is still hope for us, humanity. ;D
On the other hand, some people seem to think of him as a gift from God that will save all humanity (by saving, I mean, stopping agressive capitalism and the human rights violations around the world.) I mean, he's just a man, a powerful man, but he's going into office in a very difficult time for the country and the world itself. I would not want to be in his shoes. Hope he does good, though.

A lot of my coworkers think that he won't be able to make his first 4 years of presidency because he will probably get killed first. Not that they want it to happen, they are just cynics who have been in the news biz industry for too long.
