What's your favorite low-fat cookie, muffin, brownie or cake recipe?

I want to bake something for a friend of mine for his birthday. He prefers low-fat desserts but I'm used to making mostly full fat bakery.

Can you suggest a favorite cookie, muffin, brownie or cake to bake that is low-fat but doesn't taste too healthy? He likes most flavors, especially chocolate. He's also not vegan so I'm competing with all the non-vegan birthday treats he will be getting, so it's gotta be really good.

Thank you for your help. :)

I might suggest the mocha chip muffin from VWAV. You can replace half (or all, but I've never tried it) of the oil with applesauce, but it's still chocolate and it tastes really rich. I think I'd suggest a chocolate dessert, so it will still taste decadent. Oh, I don't know if it's birthday appropriate, but the gooey brownie from VW is a hybrid between a fudgey cake/brownie and a chocolate sauce, all right in the same dish. It uses applesauce, so it's low fat. The chocolate sauce tastes soooo rich. It's good topped with vanilla silk yogurt, if that's anyone's style.

Thanks! I like both those suggestions, especially the mocha chip muffins which I have wanted to try.

I recommend the Gooey Hot Fudge Brownies from this site. They are so good...like a pudding cake almost! http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=6575.0 to die for! Best when first out of the oven of course...

The Mocha Chip Muffins are marvelous. I subbed half the oil with applesauce. They rose perfectly and were nice and moist. Thanks for the suggestion. The gooey brownies sound great, too. I will bookmark that.

The term low-fat combined with any of these otherwise delicious items should be outlawed.
