I believe coconut nectar (also called water) comes from a young green coconut- it's the actual fluid inside green coconuts. The milk is derived from the meat of a mature coconut. Both are pretty easy to find in a health food store. Hope this helps.
hahaha. i was just trying to figure this out, googled what is coconut nectar, and got linked to this. does anyone know?
my friend is making me dinner and couldn't find coconut nectar so she left it out

Yes, it's the same as coconut water, but from a young coconut. The water from a brown coconut isn't nearly as fresh tasting and sweet. Hope this helps
we already made the curry, now i am just figuring out for future reference 8).
they taste the same to me and my unrefined taste buds.

well coconut milk is extracted straight from the fatty coconut 'meat', whereas the coconut nectar/water is just the juice inside of the young coconut. Very different flavors, missy!
PS I'M DRUNK. HI!!!
when i said they taste the same i meant the water from young and old coconuts, i know the difference between the water and milk.
