What did you do with your Daiya today?

I keep buying Daiya, and I guess I'm not used to cooking with "cheese" so I'd love to hear what you do with yours.
I just made a bean and cheese burrito (cheddar) and grilled it in a hot dry pan.

Another favorite of ours is to put a little pile of it  (either flavor) on a hot pan, let it melt, flip it, till it turns into a little cheesy biscuit type thing. So simple, yet so scrumptious!

I havent had grilled cheese since like, elementary school. It was realllyy good!

uhhh, I tried making mac n cheese with both Daiyas last night and it was gross....Andy liked it at first, but stopped eating it after a few minutes....it got  all coagulated and gluey....

maybe you need to add milk and butter? yes, vegan versions.

I love making grilled cheeze and quesadillas with Daiya.  Though honestly, I would like to branch out and try something different like stuffed artichokes or a layered casserole.  But its kind of pricy and to hide it in things just doesn't make me comfortable yet. haha

TOTALLY with you on this. I feel like it's being wasted. ALso, I am getting to be a much lazier cook with Daiya. I used to take the time to make delicious cheez sauces (cheaper!) but now I am just reaching for the daiya like some kind of addict!
I need to figure out when it's most appropriate to use!
I'm also thinking of just splurging on the 5 lb bag. How much are those again?

I haven't seen a 5 pound bag in a local store so I am not overly tempted.  But I completely understand.  I have a case of the lazies!

I did put a few good handfuls of Daiya on top of my tortilla casserole last night.  It turned out lovely, though I made the Verde Sauce a bit spicy and I think LB would have liked the cheeze throughout the casserole to tone it down some.  But it was still delish!

I topped my angel hair pasta in marinara sauce with diced tomatoes, shredded Daiya and basil. Delicious.

I made some nutritional yeast queso last night and threw in a small bit of daiya. It was very good. It added a little bit of creaminess that the queso has been missing. We ate it with the Garden of Eatin' Black Bean chips. So good!

I  made a pretty legit pizza. I put sliced up garlic  on the sauce before the daiya. And vegan pepperonis. Omnom.

I HAVE A freakin' awesome HB recipe! Just learned how to do it perfectly from American Vegan Kitchen.

I have a bit of mozz daiya leftover, but don't know what to do with it. We don't have any bread or tortillas, and I just made biscuits so I don't particularly want to make a pizza crust. Any ideas? I don't have a lot left.

heat up a pan, put a little circle of it on there and let it cook into a little cheez cookie. flip it.  im serious.

ps. I did and it was kind of weird but good but I think I needed to cook it longer.

I made burgers several weeks ago and so I heated up my Rice Burger and once it was mostly done I put a HUGE handful of Daiya on top and put the lid on the pan.  The cheeze melted all over and made such great bitz and pieces to fold over and atop the burger on the bun.  Yummy!

Just last week I fried up some eggplant rounds then layered a casserole dish with Boca Chick patties, eggplant, heirloom tomato and Daiya then baked at 350 for about 15 minutes.  Was fabulous over pasta and again had the little super melted melty bits.

I melted mozzerella style daiya on a toasted whole wheat english muffin.

I had a teriyaki portobello cap on a whole wheat bun with fresh spinach, a huge slab of heirloom tomato and melted cheddar Daiya. YUM!

My mom and I bring a bag of Daiya with us to Pizza Hut and they make our pizza with it.  Our local place is really good about it (they spent two years making us cheese-less pizzas, so I think they're relieved we're back to "normal" food) and they're really good about keeping the dairy cheese away from our pizza.  The hand tossed dough and sauce are, to the best of my knowledge, vegan.  Just don't let them put the breadstick sprinkles on your pizza (they put it on the bottom of the Big Italian).

Question, if I make lasagna or something with Daiya the day before it is intended to be consumed, will the texture be okay with reheating it? Or will it be hard and/or weird?

The texture was fine. I just didn't coat the top, but the inside was perfect even after reheating.
