weird food combinations that are so good!

Often not enough to be a recipe, I'd love it we could share some of the weird and unexpected food combinations that we love.

Here is my recent favourite: roasted chickpeas in cereal (they are hard and crunchy)
;D

Oh no, I have to hide your post from my husband, ABrimmer... he's insane for peanut butter. I think he would eat PB on anything. Me personally, I can't stand it unless it's mixed with chocolate, but that's just me.

I had no idea that there were so many other mustard-addicts! I thought it was just me and my dad. Whenever I make a loaf of bread, that's how I taste-test, by slathering it with mustard and trying it that way.

LOL, That gave me a giggle. Surprisingly, it's actually quite good, but our whole family is known for doing "weird" things with their food. :)

I'll have to try the mustard on the bread...I LOVE mustard!!

Peanut butter with anything sweet is we-e-ird to me... I gotta say it once... y'all are freaky  ::) :P ;)

Must be a cultural thing?

I.  Don't.  Understand.  Peanut butter + sweet = wonderful in food form.

It's totally a cultural thing, I guess.  Americans don't know how to do anything but peanut butter with sweet things.  Come over to the dark side!  >:D

I've always loved peanut butter with carrots. seriously, seriously good. not very exciting, but yummy. what isn't sweet that goes well with pb? celery (I wonder what pb would taste like with other veggies), bread (duh), crackers and rice cakes (another duh), melted on popcorn, and... spoons. just take a spoon, scoop it out, and eat.

ketchup on French toast.

Yumbles. I used to do this. But that was on omni(egg) french toast, which would perhaps lend itself better to savouryising than vegan(batter) french toast.

Sorry - mebbe I'm too conservative. ::)  I eat lots of peanut butter on toast, plain and simple and not weird. I also enjoy things like my peanut noodles. The peanut butter I buy is organic and expensive, so I'm hesitant to try using, say, half a cup of it in cookie recipes if I don't know I'm gonna like the flavours.  :P

interesting! I love chick peas- so how do you roast them- and when do you use them in cereal? Hot or cold cereal?

Sam sam, I usually buy my roasted chickpeas from a store, but they can be made in the oven or a toaster oven. I have not figured out how to do them very well myself yet, but low heat for a longer time is what I usually do. I am sure there are tips online, but if you see them in a store (Longos is the only store I have seen them in ) then buy them (so worth it!)
