VEGAN FONDANT

Have already googled, but am looking for more info on the stuff. I have seen recipes using agar, and there's one unreviewed recipe on this site that calls for cream of tartar.
Also, it'll be humid as bigfoot's asshole when I make this. Troubleshooting tips appreciated.
I have it on good authority that Michael's has a fondant that is vegan. That rules.
it's super artificial, but appeared to be vegan when i checked it.
i have no experience with fondant; it scares me. i also hear it tastes terrible, so i have no incentive regardless of how pretty the product is.
Keep it cold and then use it. Don't leave it out for too long, keep putting it back in the fridge and then keep the covered cake in the fridge. That's all the tips that I really have, I know it's not helpful but I've heard that putting it back in the fridge a lot helps.
I'm like 99% sure the Wilton brand fondant at Michaels is vegan. I know that the Duff brand isn't (which was a bummer because I heard that kind is good).
"Duffman, oh yeah!"
(sorry)

I've found a brand that seems to taste pretty alright called Satin Ice. It is available in town, so I'm going to buy some today and work with it a bit to get the hang of it. I may just use storebought this time around if I can't get a decent recipe that's vegan.

I have heard a lot of people like using Satin Ice. It is suppose to be one of the better brands of fondant. With a fondant cake, humidity is killer. It breaks down the fondant and it starts to slip off. You do a dirty ice with butter cream/ chocolate frosting and then place the fondant on top.
Here is a recipe for vegan marshmellow fondant.

I actually made this http://www.missionvegan.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/vegan-rolled-fondant.pdf recipe for my birthday cake last year. I think that if you don't like fondant, it's only because you haven't had the good stuff. ;p my mom tasted it and said it was good and unlike the fondant that usually tops omni wedding cakes.
