Leftover Cake?

I cut out shapes out of some chocolate cake I made, but I don't want to throw away the scraps, any idea what to do with the rest? (besides just eating it).

Yeah... I would just eat them.
oooh i had the same prob this holiday season...
i crumbled up the pieces adn put them in a low oven, stirring them every once in a while, keeping them on a single layer, so they would dry out and be like crushed cookies. i am goin to use them instead of a graham cracker or cookie crust!
you can sprinkle them on ice cream, cupcakes, too.
I don't know, put it all into a bowl and pour on some soymilk? that sounds kind of interesting...
maybe dry them out and use them as the 'bread' in a extra decadent bread pudding. or! theres a restaurant that makes 'chocolate cake shakes' where they toss a slice of chocolate ganache frosted cake into a vanilla milkshake and blend it up. you could do it with some half frozen homemade soy ice cream and then it wouldnt matter what shape those cake pieces where in. dont forget to throw in a spoonfull (or 3) of frosting!
and if i had "problem"s like lucidanne does, i'd be a pretty happy person ;)
I used to make rum truffles with cake crumbs (Madeira cake I think), I don't remember following an exact recipe but at a guess it would have included some liquid chocolate, some alcohol extract (rum was my family's particular fav, but brandy would be good too), some raisins and the leftover cake. Mix to a stodgy but firm consistency then roll into balls, sprinkle with cocoa powder or coconut, or dip into liquid chocolate and leave to cool. I used to make them for crimbo ... happy days
Chop them up and add them into to some ice-cream mix or other?

yeah, its a pretty daunting life i lead.
the copious amounts of cookies and cupcakes i must eat all by myself is overwhelming. :P

i feel so bad for you. if you ever feel like you're going to break under all that pressure i'll send you my address and you can feel free to send me a letter about it (or just send the cake).
Mrs Beeton used to have a Victorian recipe for making a type of "macaroon" out of cake crumbs...you might google that and see what you get. But you can bet eggwhite would figure large in Mrs B's cooking. Victorian recipes are soooo laden with egg and butter!
Ohh... you can crumble them up and make mini trifles! Layer the cake and pudding and fruit. Yum! I haven't made a vegan version of one of those yet. My family loves the trifle!
