ftr, I'm not leading the revolución. I've had kale exactly once. But I want to use kale more. Besides liking it that one time (I sauteed some and also made chips), I haven't bought it since because it's not sold at the stores in which I shop. To motivate me to go to the store where I can buy it (organic, too), what are the best kale recipes around? The ones I posted look promising.
I just got a new cookbook - Greens Glorious Greens!
I haven't really gone through it yet, but I'm super excited to start eating more greens....right now I only eat kale, spinach and mustard greens....kale being my least favorite....
Lotus: I tried your soup... It was pretty good (was great until i screwed it up)... I started off with 1/2 cup "nut" and decided to add the full cup... big mistake... all i could taste was the "nut" :( i will make it again though with the 1/2 cup... i could tell it had so much potential!

Aww. I'm sorry. Sometimes I forget that I like nooch a bit more than most people...and a cup may have been too high an estimate. I've never really measured it.

i have seen the avocado turned in more a dressing too...
i love using kale in soup. especially veg soups or tomato based soups.
I use all the greens interchangeably, so if a recipe calls for spinach, I'll sub in kale if I have it. I think kale in miso soup is great. It doesn't wilt as much as the spinach does, so it's just a different texture altogether. I have thrown kale into chana masala or roasted potatoes, too.

Same here.
It's my birthday weekend. I wanted to get some special food, but I don't feel like anything sweet. I went to get a daiya Z Pizza and found that my location had closed. So, no pizza. Then I went to Trader Joe's and didn't find anything. Then I went to my local hfs and nothing really excited me. I ended up with birthday kale - black and regular.
wow sounds like your birthday is gonna be WILD!!
Kale is my jam. The sort I make at least twice a week is this:
Chop and wash a head of kale and throw it in a pot or wok. Steam with about 1/2 c of water and a few dashes of tamari for about 10 mins. As the water reduces, add in a clove of chopped garlic and saute. Drizzle with a tsp of sesame oil and a little chili oil. Easy and sooooooooo good.
