At Marshalls? Is that a food store there or am I crazy because it's a clothing store here.
I'm still on a mission to find it in a store. I want to buy it not online if possible. Hah.

Interesting that I've been drinking it the past couple of days. I had a bag in my cabinet for a long time, I just forgot about it until I ran out of bags the other day. A little goes a long way. I don't drink it the traditional way, sometimes hot, sometimes iced with splenda or agave, sometimes with masala chai spices and rice milk to give it an Indian flare.
I find it with the other teas in the Asian store here. Sellers on ebay sell it.
This is the brand they sell, which may not be the highest quality but it's good to me.

i get matcha at a Japanese market (Nijiya). The good stuff doesn't have added sugar, just pure tea. There are some "instant green tea" things that are powdered, in individual packets, and look similar (pretty green), but aren't the same. Also, there are some bagged teas with matcha mixed in, which may be easier to find if you're just looking to have it as tea vs. having it as an ingredient.
For preparing matcha tea, there's a special bamboo whisk, but I make do with one of those latte foamer thingies or a plain whisk. If you want it iced, it's easier to whisk it when hot and let it cool rather than starting with cold water.
i really just use it for green tea cupcakes and frapps.
also, i always find it on the shelf, not in the freezer case. Though it does keep better in the fridge. It starts to lose its color (slowly) once opened.
this is the one i usually get, about 8-9 dollars:

thanks, fb!!!!
sog- yeah, i just want it to make fraps. lol. im tired of paying 5 bucks for green tea fraps at starbucks.
Lol! I think I have a recipe for matcha frapps that are like Starbucks somewhere if you need one. It might not be vegan but it's probably really easily veganized. I usually add matcha to my smoothies but I've been wanting to try the frapp.
is matcha expensive? on the site fb sent me it was one ounce for 10 bucks! is it always like that?? jeez. i might just have to live without it. haha
That's pretty cheap actually. It's usually really expensive, a lot of times around $25.
Yeah, I have a small container (I don't remember the ouncage, but not many) that was $20 from teavana. Just use it sparingly, like I only use 1/2-1 tsp in any frap.
