Dinner ideas?

It's cold...it's windy...and I have no idea what to make for dinner when I get home. Does anyone have any suggestions for something cozy and warm on a crappy day like today? I was thinking of maybe a casserole, but I'll take all ideas. Thanks!
Soup! Soups are usually fast, filling, last for several meals, and hot. You could do a simple vegetable soup with good broth, tomato soup, chickpea noodle soup.... look at the vegweb soup recipes; tons! You could also do the chickpea noodle "tuna" casserole in the casserole recipes.
my favorite food is chub head soup with mushroom and doufu. it is traditional chinese recipe.
Delicious Pakistani Dahl (dal/dhal). I add spinach when I have it, or sweet potato chunks. The sweet potato offsets the spices nicely.

Any dhal or lentil dish, really.
