I had a stomach virus yesterday and this morning. So, I had a piece of banana this morning with toast and now I ate almost a whole bunch of bananas. I think I am feeling better.
Does anyone know why I ate so many bananas and if its bad?
My mom said bananas were good for your stomach ???
Edit:
I just found this: http://www.healthmad.com/Alternative/Go-Bananas.39679
Any comments
I feel bad though that I ate all those bananas
If I'm feeling a little queasy a banana usually helps me too. Or a soft pretzel. Don't feel bad you ate a lot of them, they are good for you!
Interesting article! I've never heard the remedies about warts, mosquito bites, and shoe shining.
Maybe your stomach was upset from a few days of overindulging in rich foods? I find that carbs often calm my stomach, and bananas are very carby. They're also very binding, so if you had, ahem, loose bowels, it would definitely help with that. No worries! I'm sure that as long as you don't eat a bunch of bananas often, all will be well. And anyone else in your house who wants bananas... well, tough luck this time! :)
Wow, that is some banana positive info in the article! Thanks so much for sharing, I will have to eat them more often!
I really do not think it was a bad thing that you had several of them. Apparently you body needed them! Just enjoy the now happy tummy.
My coworker suggests the BRAT diet when I don't feel good. The first time he told me about it I laughed because those were the only things I was eating already. I guess your body just knows.
Bananas
Rice
Applesauce
Toast
Thanks guys! I love how everyone is here for me from a far...
HH: I've never heard of the BRAT diet (it sounds like brat...well of course, but never mind) Sounds like a smart idea.
I hope no one asks where the bananas are lol
Heres another article:

i didnt know they were high in iron! very cool.
the only thing to watch out for, is the amount of potassium...it can lead to heart rhythm problems. so just dont eat the whole bunch EVERY DAY! ;) you'll feel the "fluttery". but seeing that you were sick, you prob needed it.
i got a recipe book, called Go Bananas! it has 150 recipes using bananas. :P

i eat toms of bananas! if i have them at least two a day! it's mainly because i am trying to go raw and they are an easy fruit to eat that actually has a good amount of calories (because when i am raw i need them!).
there is a raw vegan bodybuilder who eats like 20+ bananas a day (http://www.charliesgym.info/default.php) and i think i have seen that page on bananas from a link on his page.

holy jeez, i'm definitely not knocking the raw diet or its benefits--- but i read his 'typical daily menu' and it's actually 41 bananas each day plus more if he's hungry at 8 pm!!! can that be right??? how is all the potassium not a problem?!

i have no freakin' idea. i think it is crazy. i think they are smaller bananas... but still TONS! i think part of it is that i really don't think it is too big of a deal to "OD" on vitamins from foods (non-fortified). I may just be really tired, but I can't think of anything that I know of. i'll get back to you if i think of something (plus he takes in like 4000 cal a day so that might help)
