Anyone down for a cookbook challenge?

Ok I have some new cookbooks and all of AC's food porn makes me want to bust them out for a challenge... I know many peeps (Tweety, AC, others) post regularly about cookbook recipe reviews... I can be kind of lazy... Anyone down for some kind of challenge? I am getting bored since we are no longer doing elimination games :(
I'm in the midst of a cookbook challenge (on PPK)! I figured people get tired of them here, because not many participated in the last. This week is Vegan Diner if you want to join for that..or do whatever you want!! We still need to do the EG iron chef.
I want the cookbook challenge where we take turns making the recipes and delivering dinner to everyone else's homes!
I don't post regularly on PPK. I'd be down for one here, but I have to keep my forum addictions to a minimum, and I already have 3 main boards I post on daily. Do. Not. Need. Another.
hmmmmm ya i don't post on ppk either some harsh peeps over there lol... how much longer is the ppk challenge?
I don't post on the PPK either (too scary!), but would be up for a cook book challenge here. Even if I don't have all the books.....just something to motivate me to use the ones I do have, as I too can be quite lazy about using them.
Here's the list for the PPK one. We are currently in week 8 (Vegan Diner). I don't have some of the books coming up, so I'll be looking online. Start a new one here!
9/18 - 9/24 - Isa & Terry - Week One
9/25 - 10/1 - American Vegan Kitchen
10/2 - 10/8 - Colleen Patrick Godreau Week - The Vegan Table / Color Me Vegan
10/9 - 10/15- Vegan Soul Kitchen
10/16 - 10/22 - 500 Vegan Recipes
10/23 - 10/29 - Best Veggie Burgers on the Planet
10/30 - 11/5 - Isa & Terry - Week Two
11/6 - 11/12 - Vegan Diner
11/13 - 11/19 - Dynise Balcavage Week - Urban Vegan / Celebrate Vegan
11/20 - 11/26 - Dessert Week - Any vegan dessert or baking book you own.
11/27 - 12/3 - see thread viewtopic.php?f=18&t=14177
12/4 - 12/10 - see thread viewtopic.php?f=18&t=14177
eta: looks like the last two are Nonna's Italian Kitchen and Dreena Burton Week
how about a cookbook elimination game?
I'd be in - I find that I never use my cookbooks because I just play around with whatever I have in the kitchen and whatever crazy thought comes to my head of how I want to eat it... I need some kind of motivation (like this) to get me physically into the cookbooks.
I don't know how you normally work an 'elimination' game, but I *love* games so I'm up for pretty much anything!
one thought - a lot of the cookbooks I own aren't specifically vegan - I use them to inspire veganized recipes. Can there be a part of the challenge that includes that type of thing?
otherwise, my library system is pretty awesome for access to cookbooks.

I think some good ideas seeing this list:
well this is kinda sucky cause the only one i could do is dessert week with what i have.
I like the themes: Isa/Terry Week, Colleen Patrick Goderau Week, Dessert Week...
We could also do a Misc Cookbook Week, Bryana Clark Grogan Week (she has a blog too)...
Also cusine themes? Maybe an American Week (AVK, VD, Joni's books, Vegan Comfort Food, ect), Indian Week (Manjula and Happy Cow blogs, or vegan Indian Cookbooks).
We could do this later on... I think the themes seem like a good idea because you aren't as limited on what cookbooks you can use as much.
robin robertson week would be fly as well
Please, no more elimination games.
Cookbook EG sounds very rude!!!
plus, everyone knows veganomicon is going to win. If we had done this 4 years ago, it woud have been VWAV. j/s
I'll do any challenge that doesn't have Isa books.....Robin Robertson........Donna Klein......anyone but her. Every challenge is all about her...we already have literally hundreds of reviews of her stuff...enough of her.

wow i didn't know you despised her so much tweets haha...
we might have to poll that or maybe do Terry instead or do you despise anything related to Isa? :)
I don't have any Donna Klein books but that sounds good as well :)
Tweety, sup with all the haterade? I don't know. I mean, I know she's the most talked about vegan cookbook author and all that, but her books are good. They all have a perspective, with unique recipes, sharp wit, and tons of information. I certainly would not be the cook I am without books like hers. I own a lot of books, but I always come back to Isa's recipes.
what about two separate challenges. a ppk-based cooking challenge (their books, website recipes), and non-ppk?
I liked amy's idea of themes. That way everyone *should* be able to participate in every week if they want to.
And, Tweety I understand about the Isa overload.....was it the last challenge where nearly half of the books were Isa books? But having said that out of my 10 vegan cook books 3 of them are Isa ones.

what do you mean like finish the ppk one and then start another?
i think themes would be way easier... i hate when i am missing a cookbook and can't participate but so many vegan cookbook writers have a few out... i say theme of cookbook writer and theme of cusine would be easiest.
what do you guys think?
I like the them of cuisine....like you I get disheartened when i don't have a particular book for a challenge.
