Anyone down for a cookbook challenge?

Ok I have some new cookbooks and all of AC's food porn makes me want to bust them out for a challenge... I know many peeps (Tweety, AC, others) post regularly about cookbook recipe reviews... I can be kind of lazy... Anyone down for some kind of challenge? I am getting bored since we are no longer doing elimination games :(
Btw, I have a challenge every week.. so if you want to play along, it is easy!
1. Search out which veggie is on sale at the grocery store.
2. Find recipes for said veggie and others in my fridge...
I go through this every week!
This week I need to use up some collards, dill, cabbage and cilantro. :) The new sales go up on Thursday night.. muahahaha! :)
I do something similar all the time, the difference being I don't necessarily buy things on sale, but I often do. I used to be challenged weekly with the CSA but they quit delivering to my town and I had to quit. But I still buy stuff and then find the recipe. I do collards and kale all the time, but green beans, eggplant, sweet potato, potatoes, asparagus and broccoli are ones that I just pick up spontaneously and then look for a recipe.
I have the Ethiopian Papa Tpfu zine too.. I'd love to know what you liked from it! I didn't really like the kik alicha because I wasn't expecting the savoury spices (still good just not what I wanted). Mesir wat #2 was good, though!

I think I am going to join in your challenge of produce each week. I will be posting it on my blog each week.

Sounds great! My challenge this month was to incorporate more cruciferous veggies into my meals. :)

I have some broccoli and cauliflower in the kitchen right now. I am going to use them today.
I dunno what all we're thinking about doing, but I think we should do a week for blog challenge, or so? The only time I've really ever used blog recipes is that last blog challenge.
We will start this the second week of January... Blog is legit as well... I'm gonna put a sticky note in front of my face so I can write out my ideas... Too much drama lately I haven't had any time for myself :/
Well, I'm having keyboard issues at home so wasn't able to post reviews and pics.
However, from Big Vegan I made a delightful mango-jimcama salad for the mango part of the challenge. It had a lime dressing with pumpkin seeds. Quite good.
For the Caribean part of the challenge from Big Vegan I made the Jamaican tofu chowder...it was very good, but not overly spicy like Island food usually is. It has a nice combination of tofu, collards, coconut milk and curry. I used a Madras curry.
Hopefully we will have the other thread back. There's still hope!

Agreed. If we don't have the origional challenge list back, I will post a new one on Sunday :(
Does anyone remember week #2 so we can give VW a little time to fix itself?!
Also, my PC is wiped clean so I will be able to write reviews but the pics will prob have to wait until I can fix it!
So this week #1 was Black Beans, Mango, Caribbean/ Tropical, and Cookbook(s) you haven't used since going vegan.
LET'S ALL STILL PARTICIPATE now that we can at least login!
Are you still doing this? I'd like to join. Got new cookbooks for the holidays.
Also, is there anyway to do a challenge to force each other to make recipes from this site? It's incredible how many there are. For example, each week someone is elected to choose three recipes and everyone else has to make one of them. Something like that.
the challenge is here: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=41826.msg503868#msg503868
kinda been half assed since vw keeps getting screwed up :(
