I wanted to announce the first annual Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale, sponsored by Compassion for Animals (CfA), a new DC-based grassroots animal advocacy group, of which I'm a part.

The idea is simple (we hope): Anyone or any group - not just animal-related or vegan groups - can join by having a vegan bake sale during the period June 20-28. Participants can do whatever they want with the proceeds.

CfA will leverage the event and its semi-good media connections to get positive mainstream and non-mainstream press on vegan food and veganism in general.

So if you participate, you can...save two birds with one nest, by raising funds for your cause as well as being part of this fun awareness-raising global happening.
