This was so yummy. My DH and I licked the pan clean. I whisked a couple teaspoons of cornstarch into the milk mixture and and also whisked in some mustard to give it more of a cheesy tang.
I agree about the maple syrup. I didnt add the brown sugar and I still found it a little sweet for my taste. Next time I will only use 1/4 -1/3 cup of maple syrup.
Its not the best cake in the world but it'll do when you crave something sweet in a pinch. I shared it with the hubby and my 2 year old and we all liked it.
