This banana bread, in fact, did not change my life.

Standard self-rising flour replacement recipe - for every 1 cup of self-rising flour, mix together:
1 cup all-purpose flour

I made this as a remembrance to LA.  I wasn't expecting it to be the best chocolate cake recipe EVAH!!! 
There might be something missing from the recipe.  I ended up adding 1/4 of a water-applesauce mixture to the dough.  For the first batch I thought the recipe said to bake them for 12 minute

I was hoping to like this more.  I used Granny Smith apples, which were still quite tart after the pie baked.  My mouth is filled with tartness and coated with sweet.  Meh.

Update:  It was still mildly warm when I tried it the first time.  I tried it again once it had cooled fully and it was good.  This is definitely a pie to make a day ahead.
