Best Oat Cookies that Ever Existed

What you need:

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup plus 1 teaspoon oil
3 tablespoons water
1 banana, mashed
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 cups oats

What you do:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix the vegan sugars, oil, and water. Add the banana and vanilla. Separately, mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
2. Mix flour mixture and wet mixture. Stir in the oats. If it is too thin, let stand a bit so the oats can absorb the excess liquid. If too thick, add more water.
3. Drop them by tablespoon onto cookie sheet, and bake for 13 minutes. To check if they are done, flip one over and it should be browned. Check inside doneness.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

YUM!  Our variation:  Add raisins and REDUCE the sugar by half.  Perhaps requires more cooking time?  We used whole spelt flour and they were fantastic.  Try adding nuts and/or lightly ground flax seed.

Great recipe.  Thank you!!!!

These are fantastic!  Crispy and chewy and soft and yummy! I have made them both with and without the cinnamon, and they are excellent both ways.  My kids love them, and they are super for school snacks.

Thanks, satan! You're the best!

wow.. these came out great.. i did make a few changes.
I didnt have any oil what so ever.. an only one banana and thats my babies breakfast~ so I use about almost 1 cup of freshly made apple sauce.. that i put toke about 4 small apples and put them in the food processor.. so i only put about 1/2 cup of sugar..
they turned out great!! thanks~

YUMMY!!
My dad ate 5... I'm afraid this website is ruining his health.

VERY good texture.  They both rose and flattened well, and are chewy.  They stuck to my tray, though, but since no one else has had that problem I'm assuming I forgot to spray it or something like that

I added a dash of nutmeg, dash of pumpkin pie spice, and made some with chocolate chips, walnuts, and raisins.  And I added 4 tbsp more water to make the dough more manageable.

If these are the kind of cookies Satan makes, I'd gladly go to hell.

Substituted Agave and Sucanat for the sugars, used spelt flour, and added raisins. Was delicious. :>
