Freezing pumpkin

This might be totally dumb but...
I was wondering if you can freeze canned pumpkin? I have a big can of it that I bought at the American Market in Geneva and I want to make a pumpkin pie for a party next week, but its too much for one pie so I want to save it for another time, can it be freezed or can I only refrigerate it? How long can I refrigerate it for?
It was really expensive so I don't want to throw it out :(

i dont see why you couldnt. id just transfer it to a different container first.
Yes you can freeze canned pumpkin (obviously remove from can and into either a baggie or a container that would defrost well).

Also in terms of refrig. I'd say MAX three days and even then I'd only refrig for a day or two.
