Hi!...
I work at WFM. A while back, my mom and I discovered the Vegan Brownie from the bakery. Oh my goodness it is probably better then any brownie on earth vegan and non vegan. I was wondering if any of you had discovered these as well? I have the ingredients but not the measurements. If you'd like i could type the ingredients and we'll try to experiment?
Thanks a bunch!
Amy
type them
Here are the ingredients from the package, I presume in order of quantity. Yes, these brownies are amazing! These are the first good vegan brownies I have ever eaten.
unbleached unbromated wheat flour
sugar
tofu
dairy free chocolate
soy milk
canola oil
baking powder
baking soda
distilled white vinegar
salt
vanilla extract
If you want to try another pretty good recipe to try this one http://www.cok.net/lit/recipes/desserts.php#brownies
I've been making this lately. It is so chocolately.
I remember having a WF vegan brownie while in NYC and it was awesome!!! I wish I was good with measurements...
Here's my guess (based on other recipes I have seen in the past, I'm more of a cupcake person though, so don't take this too seriously!)
2-1/2-ish cups unbleached unbromated wheat flour
3/4 to 1 cup sugar
tofu was probably the egg replacer, so about 1/4 to 1/2 cup puree'd.
dairy free chocolate - can't help ya here, use your best instinct
soy milk - 1 cup?
canola oil - 1/3 cup?
baking powder - Start with 1 tsp
baking soda - Start with 1 tsp
distilled white vinegar - No clue
salt - Start with 1/2 tsp
vanilla extract - try 1 - 2 tsps.
