Hey, Aragorn, in real life! He's super smart and I love his interviews! Oh, and hot!

Less on the bad boy side, I have Donny and Marie Osmond barbie dolls.  They're holding mics and Donny has on white loafers.

This made me laugh. I had a friend in HS who was "gone" on Donny! I just couldn't get past those huge teeth--like tombstones!  ;D
The pic gave me the giggles because it reminded me of a list of "don'ts" given me by an older friend in highschool:

Never trust a man who wears white shoes
Never date a man who wears brillantine (hair grease)
Never date, or indeed speak, to a man who wears his shirt open and heavy gold chains "down to there." (her words)
Never marry a man you met in a bar. (Experience talking there, I think.)
Never marry a man who's rude to the waiter. If he's rude to someone who's paid to serve him, how will he treat you when you do it for free?

Oh man, I was in LOVE with Jonathan Brandis. He was on SeaQuest DSV, and did some random movies here and there. Unfortunately, he killed himself about 5 years ago. I cried. At work. *sigh...*

I didn't cry. But some friends of mine had a drink in his honour. Then we cried...  :)

I always thought it was kinda weird when people cried over the death of a public figure, you know, like they didn't really know the person....until Jim Henson died. I heard it on the news and DH says I said in this tiny voice, "OMG, Kermit is...dead." and started to cry.

OK, now we get into cringe-making embarassment territory. My first fictional crush...and I'm ashamed to admit it...was Davy Jones of the Monkees! (OK, stop laughing, I was 6!) I saw some episodes again lately and wonder how on earth! The man was all nose and haircut!

I've never really "had it" for Mr Darcy, but then P and P isn't my favourite Austen novel, either. I find Mansfield Park much better written and developed, though the movies they have made from it seem to  have ignored the text completely. (How is it more convincing that Lady Bertram should be played as an alcoholic rather than simply what she is, bone-lazy and self-centred? Like there aren't any people out there like that IRL?) However, Alan Rickman as Col. Brandon in Sense and Sensibility now, or Mr Knightley in Emma (1996, Gwyneth Paltrow)--now that's something to work with! (Let the record show, I do tend to fall in love with voices.)

And then there are my various crushes for characters from French movies...like the hero in Amelie...sighhhhh.

Davy Jones was one of my kiddie crushes too.  A couple of years ago we saw him and Mickey Dolenz (sp?) in concert and his looks are gone, gone, gone.  I still think he was cute in a kind of dorky way when he was young.

I loved Alan Rickman's character in Love Actually but in the movies I see (not many Austen based ones) he's usually a bad guy.  He was hilarious in Dogma, though but not very sexy IMHO.

Ooooh, I really love Alan Rickman.  And Tim Curry.

I completely concur about Alan Rickman.  He even made Snape kind of sexy in the hot, hook up in the supply room next to the newts, type of way.

Of Course Sir Tony Hopkins is gorgeous! He's Welsh!!  ;)b
(I can say that, so am I...)
And isn't that kind of the fascination with Lecter, that he seems so attractive until you find out how horribly twisted he is? I'm sure his victims thought he was great until he invited them round for dinner...

I love the story he tells on himself of going into cinemas where SOTL was playing, sitting behind some woman, and then leaning forward halfway through the film and saying, "Are you enjoying the film?" in "that voice." True, or Hollywood true? Who knows, it's very funny.
