Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
I saw this yesterday, and my sister had warned me it contained a reference to vegans, which I sorta dreaded based on past pop culture experience... but my fears were totally unfounded. Don't want to give anything away about the plot, but I thought they poked at us in a pretty respectful way!
I googled the whole thing and found the actor who played the vegan character saying in one place that he wasn't vegan but had "very slight milk and egg allergies" and so often eats vegan, and in another place saying that he "ate several vegan meals while filming," which makes both sound like BS.
But it would be awesome if people started referencing this re: veganism instead of that really old Simpsons episode about not casting a shadow - man I'm tired of that one.
Anyone else seen it? If not, do!! ;)b
do you have a link?
OMG!! I loved that film and I laughed so hard at the vegan bit. I love that it was so stupid.
I loved the whole film, like so so much. But even more so for the vegan reference. I had no idea there was a vegan reference in it before I went to see it.

My boyfriend and I both enjoyed the vegan part in the movie...as well as the entire movie. It really was EPIC.
gotta see this!
aw cool. i have a crush on michael cera so i might go see this on friday. I'm glad to hear that you liked it, because i'm always weary of what i see at movie theatres considering it's at least $24 for two people to go.
I saw this today and had to come post about the Vegan Police! Really funny scene. I'm not a huge Cera fan, he never really seems like he's acting anything but himself, but the vegan thing cracked me up.
My friends saw it and said it gave vegans a bad name. I saw it and enjoyed it, it was pretty accurate i think :)
im all for vegan police. If my lips even touch food with animal byproducts by accident I want someone to storm in and stop me. even if it means taking away my vegan super powers.
