Live Earth NJ

Live Earth is this Saturday YEAH!!! My Smoochie bought us tickets as an early birthday present to me & also rented a hotel room Friday night & Saturday, so it should be a nice mini vaca for us. Of course my next thought is, should I pack my own food? He seems to think that there will be good vegan eats at the concert since going veg is THE most effective way to fight global warming, but I'm sceptical- what do you guys think? We have a kichenette in the room, so I could very easily bring my own food to  make at the room & just have snacks at the concert.

You would think that there would be plenty of good eats at the venue but I would bring some munchies just in case.

Is your birthday on Saturday? 07/07/07. My hubby's bd is that day. :)

Have a great time at the show & have a Happy Birthday  :)

If the venue's food service runs the food stands, it would likely be the same food they have for all of the other events.  I've gone to some shows where I thought there'd be vegan options, but it was all regular food service items.  Even if it's an all day event, I've found I don't need to bring much - an easy pb&j-type sandwich, some almonds, carrots, cookies (something snacky because you'll lkely be getting a lot of second-hand smoke), and water in a sealed bottle.

Thanks for the advice. I dont' have a problem with just having fries or a pretzel there if I eat right before we go- Does anyone know of any good restaurants in that area?

Thats my birthday as well!  In addition to it being 07/07/07, i was also born at 7:00!

Jessesmum: I always assume that no matter what any venue has, veggie or non veggie food, it's going to be super expensive!  I would maybe bring song veggie snacks at least to cut down on cost, unless thats not important since you will be on vacation!  have fun!

You lucky, lucky dog! Getting to go to that awesome concert while the rest of us just watches the satalite signal! Wave to the camers for us!

I would pack some snacks to be on the safe side, but sometimes places don't allow outside food/water so good luck with that!

And of course http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb24/brassber/Happy%20Birthday/MJZ70.gif

I'm back!!! The concert was AWESOME  :D So much fun. I'm really glad we went. All of the musicians were great & I think the message really came across well to try to stop global warming and to do more for the envorinment. They even talked about the negatives impacts on the environment  of raising animals for food and encouraged everyone to eat vegitarian at least one day a week (it's a start!). This one commercial they played had a really gross image of a cow pooping. It cracked me up. To my surprise they did have veg*n food there. Right next to the usual carts of cheesteaks & fries were veggie carts that had morningstar farms dogs & burgers & really good vegetable kabobs. While we were tailgating in the parking lot I met a friend of a friend who was vegan & she brought some really good pasta salad to the party. I told her about this website.
