Christmas Party Playlist

I am making a Party playlist that will serve both as my office christmas party playlist ( I DJ) and a christmas party thrown by my roomate in her house. I need your input, since there are a lot of artists that have two or more songs in it and if you have any other idea that I could add, it would be great. Just to help you, my colleagues are the kind of person who thinks it's okay to play Killing in the Name of by Rage Against the Machine at a Christmas party three times in a row. I've seen 5 over 50 years old men (respected journalists and producers) moshing with the younger ones. I know, I was the one who had to play that song three times in a row last year.  ;)b So here's the list, not in any particular order. (The one in bold have been tested and played last year) :

1 - L'aventurier - Indochine (french group, classic song about Bob Morane)
2 - Just - Mark Ronson (Radiohead funky cover)
3 - Groove is in the Heart - Dee-Lite (If I were to leave this one out, I believe there would be a coup at that office party)
4 - Are You Gonna Go My Way - Lenny Kravitz (Since a lot of us at work went to see LK in concert a month ago, I think it would be appropriate.)
5 - La Vida es un Carnaval - Celia Cruz (Because it is)
6 - Heart of Glass or  Call Me - Blondie (can't decide...)
7 - Just Dance - Lady Gaga (inserting a kind of a new one in there...)
8 - You Never Can Tell - Chuck Berry
9 - Same in the End - Sublime
10 - What I Got - Sublime
11 - Wrong Way - Sublime (I'm a Sublime fan, most of my friends are, is it still a good idea for an office party?)
12 - Riot Radio - The Dead 60s (for the pseudo hipsters at work and in my friends circle)
13 - Womanizer - Britney Spears (It's kind of popular right now, no?)
14 - Love Train - O'Jays
15 - Respect - Aretha Franklin
16 - Billie Jean ou Don't Stop Til You Get Enough - Michael Jackson
17 - Down on the Corner - CCR
18 - Mr Jones - Counting Crows
19 - D.A.N.C.E. - Justice (I love to dance to this song!)
20 - Kung Fu Fighting - Carl Douglas
21 - 100 % Pure Love - Crystal Waters (Like it... not sure if it would be a popular opinion)
22 - Take on Me - Reel Big fish
23 - Like A Prayer or Vogue or Papa Don't Preach - Madonna (Madonna has a lot of choices for us, but I can't decide either!?)
24 - Blister in the Sun - Violent Femmes
25 - Killing in the Name of - Rage Against the Machine ( of course)  :jamming:
26 - Hollaback Girl - Gwen Stefani (or also known as the "Banana Song" by my roomate)
27 - Knock on Wood - Amii Stewart (Another disco classic, I think)
28 - Shiny Happy People - R.E.M. ( I like it, is it party worthy?)
29 - Hella Good or Just A Girl - No Doubt
30 - Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
31 - Walk Like a Camel - Southern Culture on the Skids (I didn't play it, but I know people like it)
32 - Come on Eileen or Build Me Up Buttercup or I Know - Save Ferris
33 - When the Night Feels My Song - Bedouin Soundclash
34 - Basket Case - Green Day
35 - Anarchie - Me, Mom and Morgentaler
36 - Oi to the World - No Doubt (It's a Christmas Song, so it doesn't count if there is already a No Doubt song)
37 - December 1963 - Franki Valli
38 - Jump, Jive An' Wail - Brian Setzer Orchestra
39 - The Impression that I Get - Mighty Mighty Bosstones
40 - Cum On Feel the Noize - Quiet Riot
41 - Unbelievable - EMF
42 - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper (probably not, though, but just in case)
43 - The Way I Are - Timbaland...
44 - 99 Luftballons - Nena
45 - My Boy Lollipop - Coyabalites (Ska cover of an oldie)
46 - We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sisters (since I included the Quiet Riot one...)
47 - You Shook me All Night Long - AC/DC
48 - Video Killed the Radio Star - President of the United States of America
49 - Rock This Party - Bob Sinclar and Big Ali

Waiting for your suggestions/comments/hellos/cupcakes...  ;D

I have some ideas I'll list tonight.

If Michael Jackson is an option, what about Duran Duran Girls on Film?

Wow...that must be some office!

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to throw a few holiday tunes in there.  Like some of the classics- Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, Winter Wonderland, etc., to keep with the holiday spirit.

I thought about adding christmas tunes, but last year, it wasn't very popular. I have a DJ set at the end of the night when they're mostly drunk and just want to rock out I guess. But I'll try to add some, like the No Doubt is a Christmas song. I'll surely find something else.

Duran Duran is a great idea! I can't believe I haven't thought of it... thanks HH!

I was trying to think of songs that are like what you have listed.

Pretty much anything off of Priscilla Queen of the Desert soundtrack.
Village People – Go West

DEVO - Girl U Want
Prince - Let's Go Crazy
Men Without Hats - Safety Dance
Oingo Boingo - Dead Man's Party

Social Distortion - Story of My Life
Disturbed - Down with the Sickness
The Hives - Tick Tick Boom
The Vines - Get Free
Juke Kartel – Throw It Away or Sublime Truth
Rob Zombie – Living Dead Girl

I had these suggestions for a running mix a few months back.  There are some swing revival tracks in the mix and you had Brian Setzer Orchestra on your list and that’s also on this list.

Infadels:  Can't Get Enough (Mekon Remix or Jagz Krooner Remix)
Maximo Park:  Our Velocity
The Fratellis:  Creepin' Up the Backstairs
Living End:  Prisoner of Society
Strokes:  The Modern Age
Franz Ferdinand:  Take Me Out
U2:  I Will Follow
Goldfinger:  Here In Your Bedroom
Buzzcocks:  Orgasim Addict
Less Than Jake:  Summon Monsters
Reel Big Fish:  Beer
Stray Cats:  Rock This Town
Brian Setzer Orchestra:  Jump Jive 'An Wail
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy:  You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight
Squirrel Nut Zippers:  Dancing on the Moon
Cherry Poppin' Daddies:  Zoot Suit Riot

And if you decide to go with some Christmas songs:
Elton John – Step Into Christmas
Paul McCartney – Wonderful Christmastime
John Lennon – Happy Xmas
Band Aid – Do They Know It’s Christmas
Jimmy Eat World – Last Christmas
The Long Winters – Christmas With You Is the Best
Korn – Kidnap the Sandy Claws
Twisted Sister - Oh Come All Ye Faithful

I didn't know that it was a rule that DJs can put only one song per artist on a mix.

How about "Jesus came from outta space" by Supergrass? I love that one for xmas time.
"Disco 2000" by Pulp is fun
"Pull Shapes" by The Pipettes

hm I need to think more

Thank you guys! The party just ended. But we had fun! There was a point where people stopped dancing when I was djing!!! And the thing is... they were special requests! And those who made the request didn't even bother to dance! Anyways... i got them running again with Mony, Mony, Billy Idol version.

And I learned tonight that swing is not popular with the people I work with. haha. Neither is disco.

But I'm taking notes from your suggestions for our next party next week. It's not another staff party, it's my roomate who decided to throw a it's christmas soon party. Tis the season to be festive, eh?
