Weekly Giveaway: The Blooming Platter! Bethamphatamine is the winner!
Sometimes a person has to look outside of VegWeb for a recipe. I know, it's scary, but true. Luckily for us, there are about a million amazing vegan cookbooks out there! One of my latest favorites is The Blooming Platter by Betsy DiJulio (http://www.thebloomingplatter.com/?attachment_id=3850). Filled with recipes like Southwestern Tempeh and Corn Pie, Blooming Vegetable Calzones, and Spicy Baja Tacos, it'll have you full until next winter! Besides, it totally needs its own category in Cookbook Lab, and I think you're just the person to start it!
To win a signed (!!!) copy, let me know what your favorite summer desserts are!
Giveaway ends Tuesday, August 9 at midnight, winner will be selected randomly, must live in USA to win.
Good luck!
p.s. Are you getting the VegWeb Weekly? It's our free and food-filled newsletter and you can sign up by just entering your email on the home page or on this page in the left hand bar!

Fruits mixed together full of their natural juices! Love mangos, pineapple, peaches, raspberries, and melon all chopped and topped with some crushed nuts for crunch.
Homemade Blueberry Popsicles!
I'm a little obsessed with cheezecake right now. I was on a brownie kick at the beginning of the summer but soon gave up after not finding one that impressed me.
Berry cobbler with ice cream.
It must sound boring, but fresh fruit is my favourite dessert in the summer! Bring it up to the next level in a raw crisp!
Love this recipe: http://tastespace.wordpress.com/2011/07/25/raw-mixed-berry-crisp/
Blueberry muffins!! (Yes, I consider muffins a dessert). Or maybe a nice blended coffee drink or bowl of cold rice pudding.
My favorite summer dessert is my old standby: frozen banana blended with a little peanut butter to make my PB banana ice cream!
Homemade vegan ice cream with fresh fruit, any vegan berry torte or homemade vegan popsicles or sorbets
Coconut rice pudding with mangoes, and blackberry cobbler, yum! : )
Rhubarb pie or rhubarb crisp served with vanilla bean ice cream!

Homemade ice cream! The latest one is vegan vanilla cake batter ice cream with chocolate buttercream frosting swirled in. It's to die for!
