New at vegan so bit confused

Are all bread vegan? I found out yesterday that people buy vegan bread or make it them self's. I didn't know that bread cannot be vegan.
Also is diet red bull vegan? I read that cane sugar is not vegan so i'm confused if sweeteners in fizzy drinks are vegan.
So that means anything with sugar in it i have to avoid?
God only knows how many tiny bugs I've eaten in with my canned beans!
One of my dad's first jobs was as an inspector for Fig Newtons. They're allowed a certain proportion of infestation. My dad's friend inspected a plant that processed canned tomatoes. Apparently it's worse with the tomatoes than with the figs. Neither of them will eat the product they inspected after see what "else" went into them.
see, that is how vegans get their protein
And no one is 100% pure vegan especially if bacteria count as animals!
BTW, canned tomatoes don't have skins because they soak in a LYE bath until the skins disintigrate!
:o OMG!! I had no idea!!

That's why I would buy organic canned tomatos but the ones avalible to me have added salt so I get to choose:
organic with tons of crap salt
or
no salt added non organic
grrrrrrrr

Yeah, seriously, why is there so much salt in canned tomatoes (or canned anything for that matter)? If they can make "no salt added", then obviously they didn't need the salt in the first place. Luckily, Sunflower Market here has "no salt added" organic and they're only 20 cents more than non-organic, but I'm with you on the dilemma...dang salt...

Must get! what's the brand name?!
wow we have managed to go off topic here and then OFF that topic

It's Sunflower Market brand--they have their own line of products (like WF 365 organics line). Pretty sure they don't have them in Germany...sorry :'( If you're ever in the Southwestern US, though, you should check out Sunflower. They are the greatest!
I saw a documentary on figs about a hundred years ago. Seems in order for the figs to ripen some kind of spider goes into the fig and lays its eggs. The eggs hatch and out come the baby spiders leaving some kind of egg sac or sacs behind. Then a special wasp comes in and eats the remains of the spider egg sacs and then finally the fig can ripen. Or else the wasps come first and then the spiders? I really can't remember, it was a hundred years ago I watched this documentary.
I don't recall anything about spiders, but figs/fig wasps are a fascinating example of mutual evolution and symbiosis.

i'm also not sure if Lucozade is vegan, it says stuff like glucose syrup, lactic acid, colouring of yellow. And i wonder if baked beans are vegan as they have added sugar, i ws thinking this might not matter much if it's just in the sauce.
It says dextrose is in the chips i have and i've heard dextrose might be vegan or it might not. Shall i take my chances? It's annoying to find simple food like that can have something in them for it not to be vegan. :-\

I don't think i can remember all these though.
See here for Lucozade: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070618084945AAsM3Pk
Once again it's just that it's a sugar drink that is not very healthful.
In the states both dextrose and lactic acid are almost always veg-sourced. In the UK I'm not sure.
I heard that HLS tested on animals for Lucozade few years ago but recently sister said they don't anymore. I always have lucozade, its gets me going more then coffee, i just have once a week or once every two weeks.
I am addicted to Sugar Free Red Bull and my Mother-in-law said that it contains bull sperm and then I looked it up and I read that it is from cow intestine, and so I was scared but then I read this thread and some people cleared that up for me! Thank you now I can continue drinking my extremely bad for you stimulant. :-X
I may be late to the game on this but alot of breads have egg, milk, whey, and honey
What about other soft drinks like coke cola, which ones are vegan?
my Mother-in-law said that it contains bull sperm
those pesky mothers-in-law and their constant attempts to convince us we're drinking bull sperm.

;D hahahahaha If my husband's mother said that to me.....Let's just say my mind went right in the gutter
I tried a fig for the first time last week. Now I'm scarred for life... I liked it too! :'(
I used to love the diet red bull, but after Skinny Bitch, no more coffee or soda for me.
What on earth was this topic about anyway? I'm sure I'm not posting anything related to it. Sorry.
congrats on becoming vegan!!! yay for you!
now i do believe that the taurine in red bull is definatley not of a vegan source, its not in the vegan shopper (a hand book you can order from the vegan society which gives you lists of which products are vegan and what to look out for in ingrediants).
all breads vary, just dont eat any with eggs, milk or butter in, there is a brilliant and really easy recipe on here called outrageously easy big bread, try that if oyu can cos its fantastic
