What is your favourite cheeze sauce?

I really want to love nutritional yeast cheeze, but any attempts I've made have been culinary failures. I have a childhood recipe that I'd like to veganize, which originally uses cheese sauce (like Cheese Whiz), and I'm on the hunt for a yummy repacement.
Please help! What''s your favourite - on this site or another?
If you're lazy like me and just want to buy a premade cheese, try "teese" nacho style- it is made to melt and be creamy. I promise you won't be disappointed. This is coming from an ex-Shells & Cheesaholic.

I don't blame you for not liking nutritional yeast. I guess it is a required taste or maybe I bought a bad brand. I used to like it and now it just makes me want to ... Maybe I shouldn't say... I really want to like it too! But I gues I'm just stinky... :D
Anyway, there's this recipe for vegan mac n' cheese from the VegNews magazine and it's fantastic! I would just use the sauce on anything. And the sauce contains no nutritional yeast! Woohoo! Here's a link to the recipe http://eatdrinkbetter.com/2008/03/13/vegan-macaroni-and-cheese-it-can-be-done/ ;D I don't know if it tastes like cheese wiz but it is worth trying. I wish all the luck in your chesse adventures!
i finally made a couple of these and wanted to chime in!
first i made the vegan yum yum one - it was so good and rich, you definitely cant load up on it.. the only thing id change would be to cut down on some of the oil. i hate seeing the sauce/oil separation on my noodles.. to me it just seems like a sign theres too much oil. otherwise - delicious.
today i made the fatfreevegan recipe, it just seemed really bland. i think the tomato paste in the VYY recipe really adds alot of flavor so i added a bit of ketchup to this and i think that helped. i also added more mustard and garlic powders, that helped too but i still wasnt blown away.
next up is the vegnews recipe!
I just made the VegNews Baked Macaroni & Cheese a couple days ago, and it's really good: http://www.vegnews.com/web/articles/page.do?pageId=40&catId=10. I loved this sauce; it's nice having a non-noochy sauce for a change. The next time I make this recipe, I'll likely skip the baking and just eat the pasta and sauce mixed together and all nice and oozy. I'll probably try this sauce in lasagna and over steamed veggies.
My favorite Alfredo Sauce is this one: http://www.postpunkkitchen.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=24982 (Scroll down about 2/3 of the way. It's post #19. The Alfredo Sauce is part of an Alfredo Stroganoff recipe. I've only tried the sauce, though.). It's the closest to what I remember dairy Alfredo tasting like--super rich and creamy. I plan on using this in an Alfredo Pizza soon.
From Vegweb, I really like Dragonfly's Bulk Dry Uncheese Mix: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=7126.0.
Also from Vegweb, I've recently enjoyed this simple Cashew Alfredo Sauce over some spaghetti squash: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=17310.0.
Oooh!! I definitely have to try that ppk alfredo recipe!!!!! Looks sooooo good!!!! And it has no nooch either! Wippee!!!!!!!!!!!! :>

I made this the other day, and enjoyed it. It IS nice to have a different cheezy sauce. I didn't bake mine, so I didn't add the bread crumbs..I just mixed it up. I think it probably could have used some more seasoning, and more blending..but it's good.

I really want to try the Pepperjack cheez sauce recipe that was posted a day or two ago on VW! If it's any good maybe my bf could be convinced to go veg. Maybe I'm dreaming too big on that one ::) but the recipe sounds kind of good anyway.

I made this the other night and thought it was great compared to the others I've tried. My daughter even asked for seconds and she hasn't done that with any of the homemade mac n cheeses that I've made. I did end up using roasted cashews since that's what I had on hand and it still tasted good.
Allychristine, what veggies did you put in yours?

I followed the recipe except for the following: no bread crumbs or baking, no shallots, lime instead of lemon, added garlic salt.......so, I used potatoes, carrots, and onion.
what are the bits of green and red?

Okay, this is my new favorite. http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=25646.0 I made it tonight and it's the shiznit. :)
i just made veganyumyums mac & cheese -take 2. it's a mixture of her original mac & cheese and the vegnews one so it incorporates cashews, potatoes & carrots and knocks out a few of her original ingredients (tomato paste, soymilk). it's good but definitely not as rich as the orignal vyy recipe. i used roasted salted cashews and just reduced the added salt, and maybe half the EB. it's super creamy right from the blender and didnt bother to bake it after i mixed it with the pasta and broccoli. i felt like it needed something.. maybe it's the tomato paste again, cus the flavor was a little too thinned out for me. it was really easy though, cus aside from boiling the veggies for a bit and cooking the pasta, everything else is done in the blender so you don't have to watch it on the stovetop.
