The cupcake recipe is the second time I've seen black cocoa listed as an ingredient.  Where does one find black cocoa powder?

Ooo I think it's just like the Dutch processed Special Dark cocoa... and I get it in the regular grocery store... Hope it helps

I found that Oatmeal Creme Pie recipe last year and it's insanely good!  :D  They taste better than Little Debbie's and are dangerously addictive.  (FYI - Ricemellow can be found at Whole Foods near the ice cream section, not the baking section where I tried to find it).

I've tried the ricemallow creme and boy does it make a good fluffernutter sandwich  :D

I'm pretty sure you can always sub with regular cocoa powder but it just won't be as dark looking.

I thought every veg*n in the world had heard about Jennifer Mccann's Twinkie recipe she was even on NPR talking about it! You guys need to spend more time away from vegweb I think ;) J/K!!  :-*
I've never had an oatmeal cream pie (or a twinkie!) but I think it sounds good. The only problem is if I make them I'll eat them.

I've never heard of ricemellow! Must get some. Just because. :)
Basically this guy's blog sums it up:

I have recently taken up reading Vegan food blogs.  The Urban Vegan had a dessert contest titled Vegans Gone Wild that was posted, recipes & pics, in July.  Crepes, cream puffs, and more!  *drools*

I loved the twinkie recipe, I bought my pan within weeks of that coming out.  I have yet to try the hostess cupcake recipe, but its also in VWAV and I always drool over it.  I dont know what an oatmeal cream pie is though.  whoops!

Hersheys now makes a Dark Chocolate powdered cocoa.  It isn't a drink mix or anything, but just powdered cocoa and I am certain it is vegan because I have a can.

they're like two oatmeal cookies with a layer of marshmellowy cream sandwiched in between..  i bet the homemade ones would be a ton better than the originals, i don't remember liking the originals all that much.

Actually, black cocoa is even darker and richer than dark Dutch-process cocoa.  Here's a link to a bunch of cocoas, among which you'll see some black cocoa:
