Vegan Sweetened Condensed Milk

Hi all! I know you can make sweetened condensed milk at home with your own soy or rice milk, but has anyone ever found anything pre-made from the store that works? I was thinking maybe vanilla soy or coconut creamer?????
Hm, maybe creamer would work. The closest thing I've seen for a shortcut is soymilk powder. Just use more powder than you would if making soymilk and add sugar and heat until it's dissolved.
There's this:

which probably isn't available at your grocery store. It's at Pangea. I've never tried it, though.
I have used the powder-based recipe on this page: http://hellyeahitsvegan.com/?p=172
After I made the magic cookie bars with the above recipe, I also wondered if I could've done something with coconut milk, or even use cream of coconut (though I don't know if that stuff is vegan).
veggy dog- that's what I'm making is magic cookie bars! :> Ya, coconut milk is a good idea, maybe sweetened a little. I've never seen the soy sweetened condensed milk, but I'll look around more. Hmmmmm....the coconut milk is worth experimenting with. Maybe sweetened with agave....that might thicken it more and make is lower GI....
I saw there was one in australia.. but its by nestle.. so i would suggest never to buy anything made by them. plus it would never be non GM

Yay!! Those things are amazing. I don't even know how long it had been since I'd had one; made them this past Christmas.

Isa has a recipe for basically the same thing, using coconut milk.

I'm so all over these, thanks! I love ppk....
I've been wanting to make them ever since I got Isa's new cookbook, but I'm afraid I'll eat the whole pan myself!!

They freeze well. That helped slow down my consumption of them.
I never found out if they freeze well :-[
I used that soy condensed milk during the holidays (made many pans of magic cookie bars!) and it is truly amazing. I would buy the stuff by the case if it weren't so pricey. It's probably better that way otherwise I'd make magic cookie bars far too often!
