I fail at frying tofu! The coating never sticks or gets really crunchy. I want a coating like fried chicken, any tips?

Check out this post from the C'est La Vegan blog: http://www.cestlavegan.com/2011/11/comfort-food-dinner/
She links to this recipe from PETA that she uses: http://www.cestlavegan.com/2010/02/fried-chicken-fingers/
I think she uses seitan, but I'm sure you could use pressed tofu, also.
You definitely have to press and drain the hell out of it. I dip in liquid, dry, liquid, dry, liquid, dry.Adding a tablespoon of mustard to the wet stuff helps the coating stick really well to the tofu as well. Cornstarch helps it get crunchy and delicious.
There was also a point where I was working on a very thick "wet" batter for deep fried tofu, but I think I gained about 10 pounds in a week so I gave up trying to perfect it. Anyway, good luck (and sorry I didn't respond to this text yesterday.)

press it well and coat it with cornstarch in a ziplock (shake and bake status) then fry till golden... once it's golden coat it with some thick sauce (I love bbq tofu) or a thinner sauce with some cornstarch slurry mixed in to thicken <3
