Tell me how to use my bananas!

I have 4 browning bananas that P says taste weird. I was going to make my favorite banana bread, but maybe there's something else I should try? I've made the banana crumble in jovb, and it was a bit too sweet. What else?! I'm going to make it tomorrow.

:^

How about...

-Banana Smoothies
-Banana Cookies
-Banana Cake

Specific recipes!!  :D

I don't really like smoothies, and I don't want to freeze them (I already have a lot in there).

pcrm.org (Dr. Neil Barnards orginization)has a recipe for banana cake. It's pretty close to banana bread, but a little less dense I paired it with "cream cheese" frosting but I think just a dusting of powdered sugar would be better. They also have a recipe for banana pudding which uses silken tofu, I have not tried that. I have also tried the banana cookies from this site. They were good but lacking somewhat. They screamed out for choc chips which I didn't have. I love bananas but like you, I don't like smoothies with them.

ahhh.  i was going to suggest

it is probably my favorite thing in the entire world.  its like ice cream.  but it requires frozen bananas.  you could use some of your frozen bananas for this and then stick the new brown ones in the freezer to replace them!

EVER!

I made that once, and it didn't turn out as wonderfully as I was expecting! I wanted to make it for a long time, too.

I like that cake idea (except I don't have the walnuts..), and that ice cream looks good, kelsi. Front runners!

Ac, just leave out the walnuts or sub with a different nut or chocolate chips. Be wild.

You could play Slip on the Banana Game.  Set out bananas in a hopscotch grid and have P play hopscotch.  Whenever P slips on a banana, you can beat him with a stick until he gets up.  (The stick game continues to be my favorite game, ever.)

The Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins, or Bananas Foster, in The Joy of Vegan Baking.

I use that muffin recipe often and it is always a hit.

I bet those sweet ripe bananas would make for a great banana pudding too.

Yeah, those muffins are really great, saskia...

I think I am going to make that cake, because it's something new. I'll probably throw in some chocolate chips, and I'll see if I have some walnuts.

Thanks!!

I did, too. If I wasn't so obsessive about not wasting food...I might think about it.

I think I'm going to use that ice cream recipe for my frozen ones (some time), and make the cake! ; D

:-\

I was totally planning on making that banana cake (I even thought about it last night, and decided to add some pineapples and strawberries..), and then this morning came, and I was like, "OH! I've been wanting pancakes, so I should just make banana pancakes..."
I tried a new recipe, from Vegan Planet, and they weren't very good.

Oh well. We ate most of them, and the bananas were used.

Forgive me.
