Teese Vegan Cheese!

The absolute best vegan cheese substitute I've ever eaten.
Its made by Chicago Soy Dairy, the makers of Temptation Ice cream!
I recommend everyone try it!

Huh I am wondering what everyones opinion on vegan/ soy cheese and faux/ vegan/ soy meats are.
I rarely to never but those products. Make me an avocado and tomato sandwich anyday!

i agree, kannas. i am not very into the processed veggie stuffs.
i do enjoy something about the flavour of MJ follow your heart brand 'cheese' every once in a while, but i am not the biggest fan. the reason we ordered the teese was to make it melt on pizza, which it did successfully, so i'll give it that. i didn't really say much about it, but i have a bit of a picture of my blog HERE.

I try to avoid the processed foods as well, but in a rush I'll eat them, and I tend to like most of the mock meats.  I usually say no to vegan cheese because of them taste like crap, but I have to say the Rice Cheese made by Galaxy Nutritional foods is actually not bad.  It melts and tastes pretty good on a sandwich.  Might even make a good grilled "cheese" sandwich, although I haven't tried it that way.

I've never had a vegan cheese, and I don't really eat faux meats except the very occasional veggie burger.  I really don't have any desire for them and would rather eat other things.  But I would be very curious to try teese!

That avocado and tomato sandwich sounds delicious, kannas.  I'll take that with some olives as well.

i was never into vegan cheese or mock deli meetz...i tried to like the cheez but everything would taste like feet to me.

until the NE fools came to my house and brought seitan meetz (BP and Cammy) and cheezes...homemade and otherwise. we had pizza and it was the first time i actually liked the cheez! i think the one on pizza was the sheese, but i have found to like the FYH mont. jack on pizza too. not bad.
i dont think theyd stand up in a grilled cheese though. i have to agree w/ the avocado sandwich. but with tomato slices and preferably made over a campfire. nomnom.

I had Teese vegan cheese for the first time when I ordered pizza from Purgatory Pizza in Los Angeles. www.eatpurgatorypizza.com.

While it doesn't have the same stringy, melty properties of dairy mozzarella cheese on pizza, it still tasted very, very good. Teese (www.teesecheese.com) melts better than the other vegan cheeses I have tried. Yes, it actually melted and didn't just look like soft white plastic blanketing my triangle of pizza.
Teese also didn't have a weird aftertaste and is way better than the non-dairy cheese they use to make the vegan pizzas at Whole Foods.

Having tried Teese, I think I actually might buy it now buy it and to try it on a panini or pizza at home.

Has anyone the Teese cheddar flavor? Now I'm looking at the possibilities of the grilled cheese sandwiches I used to love.

I've had the cheddar version and it's pretty darn good.  I've been using it in all kinds of Mexican food and it works really well.  I used some on pizza yesterday and it melts nicely.

Oh yes!!  You can make THE best damn tasting and looking vegan mac 'n cheese with it.  Pour it over the hot pasta just as you would Velveeta sauce.  Melts so smooth and creamy, no one would be able to tell it wasn't the real thing!

Thanks for getting back to me on that. After several vegan cheese disappointments during the past year(taste, melting properties, etc.), I think I might try the Teese cheddar after enjoying the mozzarella on my pizza. I am really craving macaroni and cheese too, something similar to the boxed kind I remember as a kid.

No problem!  Oh, and one other thing- you may need to turn the burner back on while you're mixing the teese in the pasta to help it fully melt.  Good luck!
