Simply Asian Spicy Kung Pao Noodle Bowl
I'm always looking for prepared vegan food that I can take for lunch when I don't have leftovers. This noodle bowl seemed perfect. It's labeled vegan and nothing in the ingredients would cause me to doubt it. It also didn't need to be refrigerated so it didn't take up valuable refrigerator space. The problem is one bowl has two servings. I hate it when they do that. One bowl should equal one serving! Especially when it's designed to be eaten by one person in one meal like this! >:( Two servings have 620 calories, more than I can have and stay under the calorie limit I've set so I can lose weight. (People with EDs don't start. I'm in no danger of becoming anorexic. Everytime I mention counting calories, someone will tell me that's how they become anorexic.) I solved the problem today by eating my veggies first and putting half the noodles in that container. They have a website www.simplyasia.net and an email address eval(unescape('%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%69%6e%66%6f%72%6d%61%74%69%6f%6e%40%73%69%6d%70%6c%79%61%73%69%61%2e%6e%65%74%22%3e%69%6e%66%6f%72%6d%61%74%69%6f%6e%40%73%69%6d%70%6c%79%61%73%69%61%2e%6e%65%74%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b')). I'm going to let them know how I feel about their labeling practices. I have one more package of this in my pantry and then I won't be buying it again! It's a damn shame, though because it's very tasty.
I hate that too. I've seen junk food products that include the nutritional information for serving size and for the whole package. Like a 20 oz bottle of soda - 100 calories per serving, 250 calories per bottle. I had thought this was a new requirement, but apparently it's voluntary, because I keep seeing food that looks like one serving with multiple servings. I guess nutritional information has become part of the marketing of the product - if they say how many calories it really has in it, maybe no one will buy it.
I think it's also hilarious that a package of ramen noodles is actually two servings. Who eats half a package of ramen unless they're planning on adding lots of extra stuff to it?

Also, who shares the second serving with another person when it comes in one bowl with one fork (a tiny useless one)! :D It's one serving that they are trying to deny has 620 calories because most people would say that's too much!
